Raven Software has published the weapon balancing patch notes ahead of Update 1.43's implementation. The Stoner, the FARA 83, the Krig 6, the OTs 9, and many other weapons will be nerfed. The new weapon balancing will leave the meta in a state of complete flux. Here are the Weapon Tuning Patch Notes for Update 1.43.

In the announcement of the upcoming patch, nerfs were announced for almost all of the most popular weapons in Warzone right now. Let's take a look at all the changes in the upcoming patch.

Note: We'll be following up in the coming days with the new meta, though at this stage we can confirm the Milano 821, EM2, and C58 have remained untouched and will therefore likely see a surge in popularity.

Warzone Weapon Balancing Update 1.43 Patch Notes

Assault rifles

AK-47 (BOCW)

  • Adjusted recoil.

FARA 83

  • Maximum damage reduced from 29 to 25.
  • Minimum damage reduced from 25 to 23.
  • Headshot multiplier increased from 1.35 to 1.56.
  • Neck multiplier increased from 1 to 1.2.
  • Upper torso multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1.
The FARA is very easy to control and has a comparatively fast and reliable TTK on both damage ranges, which in our opinion makes it too strong compared to how easy it is to control.

Krig 6

  • Recoil increased.
  • Neck multiplier reduced from 1.3 to 1.1.
The Krig 6 dominated the scene even after several changes. [...] The Krig 6 is said to be a beginner-friendly assault rifle for long distances. [...] If the weapon is so easy to control that its theoretically fastest TTK becomes your normal TTK, that is a problem. [...] These changes place the Krig where it belongs - it becomes a first stepping stone for beginners.

QBZ-83

  • Recoil slightly increased.
  • Recoil damping activated.

Submachine guns

OTs 9

  • Recoil slightly increased.
  • Maximum damage reduced from 34 to 31.
  • Minimum damage increased from 20 to 21.
  • Headshot multiplier increased from 1.35 to 1.52.
  • Neck multiplier reduced to 1 from 1.35.
The OTs9 was so strong because it was so easy to get their fastest TTK. With the split headshot and neck multiplier, it was almost twice as easy to land headshots. [...] These changes now require more precision to achieve the fastest TTK.

TEC-9

  • Maximum damage reduced from 26 to 24.
  • Minimum damage reduced from 24 to 22.
  • Neck multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1.

Like keeping up to speed with all things Call of Duty? Then you've come to the right place, here are some of our recent articles:

Light machine guns

Light Machine Gun Alpha (Stoner 63)

  • Adjusted recoil.
  • Gun kick adjusted.
  • Raise interrupt time increased from 0.8 to 1.
The Light Machine Gun Alpha has a ton of good stats. The recoil, gun kick, and handling were more like a 5.56 assault rifle than a light machine gun. These new drawbacks make players think twice about going into an assault rifle fight with an LMG.

Tactical rifles

Tactical Rifle Charlie (AUG)

  • Recoil slightly reduced.

Barrels

Tactical Rifle Charlie (AUG)

18" Rapid-fire

Rate of fire increased from 5% to 6%.

17" Titanium

Rate of fire increased from 7% to 8%.

M16

16.3" Rapid fire

Rate of fire increased from 5% to 6%.

16.3" Titanium

Rate of fire increased from 7% to 8%.

Overall, the latest changes to the tactical rifles should lead to the BOCW AUG becoming significantly stronger again. Popular weapons such as the Stoner 63, FARA 83 or Krig 6 are now likely to be in a much worse position though of course.

We anticipate that the C58, being the most popular go-to. When it comes to submachine guns, we still have the Bullfrog and MAC-10 for close-range and the Milano as sniper support.
