James Cameron revealed he is already working on a new Terminator movie. But fans will have to be patient as this one is gonna take a while before it is realeased.
James Cameron recently revealed that he is already working on a new Terminator movie, this time focussing more on the AI aspect of the story. Even though he has already started writing, he doesn't intend to finish the script any time soon, as he first wants to see how things unfold in the real world.
The Terminator franchise takes us into a dystopian future where AI has taken over and machines rule the world. The story revolves around a relentless and iconic cyborg called the T-800, sent back in time to change history. It's a battle between the resistance fighters, led by Sarah Connor and her son John, and Skynet, a malevolent AI system determined to wipe out humanity.
- If you want to revisit the OG Terminator movie, you can watch it on Amazon Prime.
With thrilling action, and thought-provoking themes, the franchise explores our deepest fears and the indomitable human spirit in the face of unstoppable technology, which is more accurate than ever at the moment.

James Cameron is one of the most highly acclaimed filmmakers of all time, producing record-breaking movies such as "Titanic" and "Avatar".

Kinda terrifying that we're living in a time, where James Cameron wants to see how things turn out, to inspire his dystopian sci-fi world… But, hey, at least we can have ChatGPT write funny prompts for us, right?

Although we can not expect the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger for this new movie, Cameron was planning to take the franchise into a new direction anyway, focussing more on the AI side of things.
He detailed his intentions on the SmartLess podcast, all the way back in December 2022, saying:
If I were to do another Terminator film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy
So yeah, hopefully we will still get some T-800 action going on, but depending on when we can expect the movie to release, it could make for a way more interesting plot like this.
If you weren't aware yet, there's another movie coming out that is all about murderous animatronics:
