5. Clueless

Let's start off with an absolute 90s classic. Clueless features a young Paul Rudd, but centers around Alicia Silverstone's character Cher Horowitz who finds herself in a heap of drama after giving a not-so-well-dressed student a makeover. Midnight in paris — 4. Midnight in Paris

Yeah, yeah, I know, Woody Allen is a... questionable individual... but Midnight in Paris is just pure class. Featuring Owen Wilson as Gil Pender, a screenwriter and aspiring novelist, the film is set... well... in Paris! It features Owen Wilson travelling back to various periods of Parisian history whilst dealing with a rather obnoxious fiancé and falling in love with someone else (surprise, surprise). Mean girls — 3. Mean Girls

Does it get much more classic than Mean Girls? I mean, who doesn't just love this movie. After all, it features Lindsay Lohan as a student at high school who has recently returned from living in Africa for a few years (it's still a bizarre setup, even today). She tries to make new friends and ends up in a group of friends who are... well... not the nicest. Hence, the name of the film. It's a whole lot of wholesome fun, and has some incredibly iconic scenes in it. Seriously, this just has to be on any list of best romcoms. | © Paramount Pictures

The holiday — 2. The Holiday

These last two have to go on any list of great romantic comedies. The Holiday features an insane cast (possibly only outshined by our number one pick), including Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law. It's endlessly hilarious, following two women who swap lives for a few weeks over the holidays. Living in each other's houses, one in Los Angeles and the other in England, the two women obviously end up falling in love with various Jack Black and Jude Law's characters. Love actually — 1. Love Actually

Absolute King (or, perhaps, Queen?) amongst romcoms is Love Actually. We're not going to list the cast. Seriously, it's that forking massive. Instead, we're just going to say this: this movie as Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister of England. Honestly, what more could you want? Oh, wait, Colin Firth is a hopelessly romantic writer and Emma Thompson... she's in the movie, and as perfect as always. Just such an incredibly iconic, and incredibly good, romcom. If you are one of the two people in the world who haven't seen Love Actually yet... watch the damn thing! | © Universal Pictures

Netflix is chock-a-block full of, well, everything you could possibly want. From gritty action films to dark and twisted dramas, movies that are stupid but funny, and televisions shows about nothing (*coughwatchSeinfeldcough*), there's always something to keep your silly little eyes entertained. Nothing entertains more, though, than a nice fat romcom, complete with either Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, or both (sometimes you can also throw in Kate Winslet, we wouldn't complain). Nothing is better.
