A new patch is coming to Fortnite. That naturally means the Fortnite servers are expected to be down for a short time. Here is everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, which is coming in update v30.40.

Fortnite Update v30.40 starts at the same time as Fortnite's server downtime, on Tuesday, August 5, 2024, at 4:00 am ET. The servers are typically offline for up to 2 hours and 30 minutes. After that, you can log into the game as usual.

With every patch, new things arrive on the Fortnite island, and Fortnite Update v30.40 is no exception. Although there are no official patch notes, leakers have, as always, found some things in the files that will change or be added to the game with the new update. Here we have an overview for you.

First Season 4 Teaser
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 starts in just 2 weeks! So it's only logical that Epic will start distributing teasers about the new season both online and on the island.
So keep an eye out for challenges and more, as there will be clues about what might happen in Season 4.
Fall Guys Minigames
The Fall Guys x Fortnite crossover is finally in the game, but with the new patch, it will go to the next level.
The well-known Fortnite leaker Wenso, along with leaker Loolo, has made a significant discovery. According to them, a certain number of players in Battle Royale rounds will be sucked into mini-games! There, they will need to complete a Fall Guys-style obstacle course. The courses are expected to have checkpoints as small aids. However, players will be chased by small penguins, also known as "Pegwins" in Fall Guys.

According to further findings by the well-known Spanish leakers SpushFNBR and Loolo, there will also be other content in Battle Royale and possibly in a separate Creative Mode:
- Cosmetic items & emotes related to Fall Guys
- Loot & items from Fall Guys/related to Fall Guys (According to Hypex, these may not appear in Battle Royale)
- Landmarks & quests on the Battle Royale map
Minigun Returns
Famous Fortnite leaker Hypex has also announced that the Minigun could return to Fortnite. This is a heavy weapon with high damage, an extremely high rate of fire, and a large magazine. You don't need to aim, just spray away.
Possible FNAF Collab
This leak should be taken with caution. For weeks, leaks and rumors have circulated on the internet that the horror video game Five Nights at Freddy's might be coming to Fortnite. Many hints pointed in that direction, but now the creator of the video game, Scott Cawthon, has commented:
I am very cautious with collaborations because I want to protect the brand and ensure that FNAF remains true to itself. There are some games where, even if I really enjoy the game, it just doesn’t feel like a good match – it feels more like a mismatch.
So we will have to wait and see what comes of these leaks.
