12. John Belushi
John Belushi burned through every room he entered, on SNL, in Animal House, in The Blues Brothers, leaving nothing behind him but wreckage and people laughing too hard to catch their breath. He was 33 when he died of a drug overdose at the Chateau Marmont in 1982, which feels almost impossible given how much he had already done. The characters he built were loud and physical and slightly dangerous, and no one else has really filled that space since. Hollywood kept producing wild comedians after him, but none of them had quite the same thing he did. | © Columbia Pictures
