A strong debut usually opens the door to a franchise, but some great video games are left stranded after a single release. Studios close, publishers lose interest, creators move on, and promising ideas disappear into licensing limbo. No matter how loudly fans ask, these games are unlikely to ever receive the sequels they deserve. At least their unfinished stories, original worlds, and wasted potential have given players something to argue about for years.
