These 25 Actors Have Zero Haters (Right?)

1-25

Nazarii Verbitskiy Nazarii Verbitskiy
TV Shows & Movies - October 17th 2026, 21:00 GMT+2
Peter Dinklage

25. Peter Dinklage

Tyrion Lannister’s insults were excellent; Peter Dinklage made the silences between them worth watching, too. Beneath the wit in Game of Thrones, he kept the character’s humiliation and hunger for affection painfully visible. For a quieter demonstration, try The Station Agent, where a railway enthusiast reluctantly acquires friends. Dinklage can hold your attention without delivering a speech or winning a sword fight. Sometimes looking thoroughly exhausted by other people does the job beautifully. | © HBO

Tom Holland

24. Tom Holland

Forget the radioactive spider: Tom Holland’s origin story involves ballet, tap and a demanding run in Billy Elliot the Musical. That training helps explain why his Peter Parker feels like a teenager physically struggling to keep up with his own abilities. Holland brings the same earnestness to the emotional scenes, letting embarrassment and panic puncture the superhero confidence. Saving the neighborhood is impressive. Looking as though you’re also worried about disappointing everybody in it is what makes him endearing. | © Marvel Studios

Hannibal

23. Mads Mikkelsen

Before he made dinner invitations seem threatening in Hannibal, Mads Mikkelsen worked as a professional dancer. Suddenly, that extraordinary physical control makes sense. Hollywood loves his ability to suggest danger without raising his voice, but Another Round lets the Danish actor loosen up, particularly in its exhilarating final dance. Watch those performances together and the appeal becomes clearer: behind the intimidating cheekbones is a performer equally comfortable making you nervous or making you want to join the party. | © NBC

Ana de Armas

22. Ana de Armas

Paloma could have been another disposable Bond acquaintance. Ana de Armas instead made her stretch of No Time to Die feel like a very persuasive audition for a separate movie. The nervous chatter, sudden competence and obvious enjoyment of the assignment give the action welcome personality. Knives Out uses a different strength: her ability to make decency interesting amid a houseful of scene-stealing monsters. Glamour gets your attention; the comic timing and emotional openness persuade you to stay. | © MGM

Daniel Radcliffe

21. Daniel Radcliffe

Financial security apparently bought Daniel Radcliffe the freedom to become a deeply peculiar corpse. His performance in Swiss Army Man remains a delightful indication of how adventurously he has used his post-Harry Potter career, with Weird: The Al Yankovic Story providing further evidence. Then came a Tony for Merrily We Roll Along. You can admire the range, but the enthusiasm is infectious: he approaches an absurd premise with the same commitment he gives a demanding Broadway score. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Jack Black

20. Jack Black

Watch Jack Black teach his young bandmates in School of Rock: underneath Dewey Finn’s appalling professional ethics is an almost scholarly respect for rocking out. Director Richard Linklater cast children who could actually play, and Black jammed with them between setups. That shared enthusiasm gives the movie its heart. He may treat a guitar solo like an Olympic event, but he also makes room for everyone else to shine. The ridiculousness works because the love of music is completely serious. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Robin Williams

19. Robin Williams

When Christopher Reeve was hospitalized after his riding accident, Robin Williams visited pretending to be a Russian proctologist. Reeve later recalled that Williams made him laugh for the first time since the accident. It’s a wonderfully ridiculous story with real tenderness underneath, much like Williams’s best performances. The Genie in Aladdin supplied the fireworks; Good Will Hunting showed how carefully he could listen. His warmth was especially powerful when he stopped trying to fill every available second with noise. | © Phase 4 Films

Helen Mirren

18. Helen Mirren

An Oscar for The Queen might encourage an actor to spend the next decade accepting tasteful scripts about important people. Helen Mirren also wanted a part in Fast & Furious, specifically with driving involved. That appetite for fun makes her formidable reputation easier to embrace. The precision that powers Prime Suspect doesn’t disappear when the material gets sillier; she simply puts it to different use. Prestige is lovely, apparently, but it shouldn’t prevent a woman from enjoying a getaway car. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Idris Elba

17. Idris Elba

Idris Elba DJed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception, a résumé detail that sounds like somebody lost control of a celebrity name generator. Music is a working pursuit for him, alongside the acting career that gave us Stringer Bell and John Luther. Those characters project authority while gradually exposing the trouble underneath it. Elba’s charm benefits from that tension: he looks capable of handling anything, even when the script has made it abundantly clear that he cannot. | © Marvel Studios

Dev Patel

16. Dev Patel

Dev Patel broke his hand filming Monkey Man, his feature directing debut, and continued working through an already punishing production. The commitment registers in the finished film, where the violence feels desperate and exhausting rather than effortless. Following Lion and The Green Knight, it also expanded an increasingly interesting career. Patel can make vulnerability compelling without turning a character passive; even when he’s throwing punches, you can see the frightened, furious person trying to work out what comes next. | © Bankside Films

Patrick Stewart

15. Patrick Stewart

Captain Picard issuing orders is reassuring. Patrick Stewart doting on a foster dog is almost unfair. He and his wife, Sunny Ozell, have fostered pit bulls and helped challenge the dogs’ reputation, with their foster Ginger becoming a particular online favorite. That tenderness sits comfortably beside the commanding performances in Star Trek and X-Men. Stewart’s authority has never required permanent solemnity, which leaves plenty of room for affection, comedy and being thoroughly upstaged by an animal on the sofa. | © Apple

Keanu Reeves Matrix

14. Keanu Reeves

Buying personalized Rolex watches for four members of his John Wick: Chapter 4 stunt team is a fairly decisive way to say thanks. Keanu Reeves’s generosity gets plenty of attention, but the professional respect behind that gesture matters, too: those elaborate fights depend on shared skill and trust. His screen appeal has a similar lack of fuss. Whether playing Neo or John Wick, Reeves gives physical effort and emotional sincerity priority over looking pleased with his own performance. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Cropped Emilia Clarke

13. Emilia Clarke

The dragons were fictional; Emilia Clarke’s fight to recover from two brain hemorrhages was not. After sharing her experience, she launched SameYou with her mother to improve support for people recovering from brain injury. That work gives substance to the affection generated by her exuberant interviews. As Daenerys in Game of Thrones, Clarke could make an entrance feel positively imperial. Away from the role, her willingness to discuss fear, recovery and needing help offers a much more approachable kind of strength. | © HBO

Morgan Freeman

12. Morgan Freeman

Red’s narration in The Shawshank Redemption could have become a running explanation of a movie we were already watching. Morgan Freeman makes it feel like somebody cautiously deciding to trust us instead. The voice helps, obviously, but the performance’s skepticism and dry humor are just as important. He allows hope to arrive slowly, after disappointment has made itself comfortable. That patient delivery explains why his screen presence feels so familiar: you settle in expecting someone worth listening to. | © Highland Film Group

Cropped Denzel Washington Malcolm X

11. Denzel Washington

Chadwick Boseman once publicly thanked Denzel Washington for helping fund the summer acting program he attended at Oxford. Supporting a young performer before the world knew his name says more than another inspirational awards speech could. Washington’s own work supplies the other half of the admiration: the unnerving charm of Training Day, the conviction of Malcolm X, the accumulated bitterness of Fences. He lets characters be difficult, contradictory people and trusts the audience to keep up with them. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Brendan Fraser

10. Brendan Fraser

Rick O’Connell could swagger, panic and get knocked flat without losing his appeal, largely because Brendan Fraser never seemed embarrassed by any of it. The Mummy gave him room to be handsome and ridiculous in the same breath; George of the Jungle pushed the ridiculousness considerably further. His Oscar for The Whale recognized a very different performance, but the emotional accessibility was familiar. Fraser has always been willing to let audiences see the uncertainty beneath the broad shoulders. | © Paramount Pictures

Samuel L Jackson

9. Samuel L. Jackson

Getting a laugh out of a missing superhero outfit requires timing, even when you’re Samuel L. Jackson. His exasperated Frozone in The Incredibles demonstrates how effectively he can turn that famous intensity toward something gloriously domestic. Pulp Fiction puts the same command of rhythm to much more dangerous use. Jackson understands the entertainment value of a pause, a change in volume or a look of absolute disbelief. The profanity is optional; the precision underneath it is doing the heavy lifting. | © Marvel Studios

Hugh Jackman

8. Hugh Jackman

Wolverine would probably hate musical theater. Hugh Jackman won a Tony for it, playing Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz. The gap between those assignments is part of the pleasure of watching him: the scowl and claws never swallowed the song-and-dance man. In Logan, he lets the superhero’s exhaustion become genuinely painful; in The Greatest Showman, he sells the invitation to enjoy yourself. Neither performance works at half strength, and Jackman rarely gives the impression that he brought any. | © Marvel Studios

Maggie Smith

7. Maggie Smith

An insult from Maggie Smith could arrive so politely that its victim needed a moment to identify the damage. Downton Abbey made that precision a weekly attraction, while Professor McGonagall gave generations of Harry Potter viewers a stern authority figure worth trusting. Her range extended well beyond magnificent disapproval: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and California Suite earned her Oscars for very different women. Affection, vanity and disappointment could all slip through a sentence that initially sounded like a joke. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Marvel Universe Chadwick Boseman

6. Chadwick Boseman

Sienna Miller revealed that Chadwick Boseman gave up part of his 21 Bridges salary so she could receive the fee she had requested. It was a private act that she later chose to share, and a revealing example of how he supported a colleague. On screen, Black Panther asked him to embody leadership without making T’Challa impossibly flawless. Boseman found the doubt inside the dignity, giving the superhero’s decisions weight well beyond the next fight or special-effects sequence. | © Marvel Studios

Danny De Vito

5. Danny DeVito

Mara Wilson remembers Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman taking her to plays, movies and their home while her mother was ill during Matilda. Knowing that makes DeVito’s performance as her dreadful father even more satisfying: the cruelty belonged firmly to the character. His comedy thrives on that willingness to be awful, from petty authority figures to Frank Reynolds in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He gives the audience every reason to laugh at him, without asking for a flattering angle. | © Notorious Pictures

Rick Moranis

4. Rick Moranis

Dark Helmet’s oversized headgear in Spaceballs is a useful reminder that Rick Moranis never needed to look cool to be funny. He could make insecurity wonderfully specific, whether playing that petulant villain or the hopelessly eager Louis Tully in Ghostbusters. His extended break from screen acting to raise his children added a personal dimension to the affection. Moranis described that choice without regret, which feels entirely reasonable for someone whose life mattered more to him than maintaining a release schedule. | © Walt Disney Pictures

Tom Hanks

3. Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks has sent vintage typewriters from his collection to repair shops, complete with typed letters. It’s an appealingly specific hobby for a movie star: somewhere, a mechanic gets to open a parcel and discover that Woody appreciates their work. That everyday enthusiasm complements performances that make ordinary frustrations matter. Cast Away finds drama in basic survival; Toy Story finds it in jealousy and fear of replacement. Hanks can make a character lovable while leaving plenty of room for pettiness and mistakes. | © Paramount Pictures

Jackie Chan

2. Jackie Chan

A ladder, a shopping cart, an inconvenient piece of furniture: in a Jackie Chan movie, the surroundings deserve supporting-actor credits. His finest action scenes turn problem-solving into physical comedy, with each attempted escape creating another headache. Police Story captures the extraordinary athletic commitment, while Rush Hour gives his timing a different sparring partner in Chris Tucker. Chan’s screen persona invites sympathy because getting hurt looks inconvenient and frightening. You cheer when he wins partly because you’ve watched how much work it took. | © Netflix

Willem Dafoe

1. Willem Dafoe

For anyone who primarily associates Willem Dafoe with the Green Goblin, The Florida Project offers a lovely adjustment. His motel manager, Bobby, spends his days handling repairs, difficult conversations and children who test his patience. Dafoe makes the care beneath that frustration visible without asking for applause. It’s an illuminating companion to his more extravagant performances: the same attention that makes a villain unnerving can make ordinary kindness convincing. Give him a monster or a maintenance problem; he’ll find something worth watching. | © Focus Features

1-25

The internet can turn a casting announcement into a blood feud, so an actor who inspires widespread affection deserves some credit. These 25 beloved actors have earned plenty of goodwill through memorable performances, disarming interviews, or the apparent ability to survive fame without becoming insufferable. Does that mean nobody dislikes them? Please, someone probably has a grudge against their favorite’s haircut. But finding a bad word about this crowd takes more scrolling than usual.
