Hulu is one of the biggest (and in our opinion best) streaming platforms out there, with a ton of great content added every single month. Here are the new shows and movies you can watch this month. You can also find a list of everything being removed further down.
While Hulu hasn't produced anything at the scale of Prime's Rings of Power or Netflix's Stranger Things yet, they have done a great job of delivering consistently strong content. And they've kept that record up month after month.
Here is a complete rundown of all the Hulu Originals coming to the platform this month, as well as all the third-party shows and movies that are being added. We've also included a complete list of everything being removed this month.
New Hulu Originals In August 2024
August 2024 will not be remembered as one of the better months for Hulu, but it's not terrible:
Solar Opposites (Season 5) – Monday, August 12
Solar Opposites follows alien family Korvo, Terry, Jesse, and Yumyulack from Planet Shlorp, stranded on Earth after their home is destroyed: an original take on the family sitcom model.
The show is highly regarded by fans and critics alike, so worth checking out if you haven't before.
Reasonable Doubt (Season 2) – Thursday, August 22
Jax Stewart, a top defense lawyer in Los Angeles, handles tough cases while dealing with her husband's separation and the reappearance of a former client from her public defender days.
If you love a legal drama, you'll probably enjoy the show. But reviews have certainly been mixed so far.
Only Murders in the Building (Season 4) – Tuesday, August 27
Only Murders in the Building is a mystery comedy-drama series. Three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) bond over true-crime podcasts and end up investigating murders in their own upscale apartment building, producing a podcast called Only Murders in the Building.
This is a surprisingly great show, and the three actors have a lot more on-screen chemistry than you would expect.

The best new thing on Hulu in August 2024 is probably the fourth season one of their originals, Only Murders in the Building, which will be added on Tuesday, August 27. The show is going to feel very relatable to anyone who's gone through an obsessive true-crime podcast phase (which is probably a lot of you).
