5. Sion: Once one of the most simplistic and limited champions, the rework turned Sion into a juggernaut. The champion had clear strengths and weaknesses and some great interactions. 4. Nunu & Willump: While Nunu’s ultimate was a classic bush surprise moment that made it even a pro pick very early on, the champion quickly fell by the wayside due to limited mobility. The rework kept his core as a supportive jungle tank and the signature ultimate, but introduced a lot of things that were just plain fun. (Credit: Riot Games)
3. Warwick: Pre-rework Warwick was an extremely one-dimensional champion, a good learning jungler, but with too few abilities to play around. While many jungle champions came alive after level 6, old Warwick’s kit was so incredibly reliant on his ultimates that he had next to no presence when it was unavailable. After the rework, Warwick became a lot more interactive and mobile. (Credit: Riot Games)
2. Poppy: Ah, pre-rework Poppy. A tank-assassin hybrid with little mobility and a passive that rewarded you for not stacking health. The champion was so much of a joke that a pro player shocked the scene for playing her as a counterpick. After the rework, Poppy became a solid tank with some great zone control tricks. 1. Urgot: For the longest time, Urgot was considered a joke - a short-range caster ADC or a very bad top laner used in very narrow picks. The rework changed all that, giving him an impressive new passive (shotgun knees!) and awesome ultimate that made being killed by him a truly terrifying experience. (Credit: Riot Games)
League of Legends has been around for a while and more than a few times Riot Games has taken a champion back to the drawing board for a tune-up. Some of the changes have been… controversial, but many have left the champion looking and playing much better. To commemorate the rework of Udyr, we'd like to look back at our totally subjective picks for the best champion reworks in League of Legends.
