A $2,200 storage unit buy turns into a $120K Adidas discovery with rare Messi boots inside.
Even Harrison Nevel likely didn’t expect anything close to what he ended up uncovering. The YouTuber purchased an abandoned storage unit at auction for just $2,210 – only to discover what appears to be more than $120,000 worth of Adidas products hidden inside.
What initially looked like a routine storage auction quickly turned into a viral sensation. Inside the unit, Nevel reportedly found over 300 boxes filled with Adidas merchandise, including football jerseys, balls, sample items, and rare Messi-related boots.
Over 300 Boxes Of Adidas Gear
In a video documenting the discovery, Nevel explained that even before opening the unit, he noticed shipping labels suggesting a connection to an Adidas facility. Once inside, however, the true scale of the find became clear.
Stacked throughout the storage space were hundreds of boxes containing a wide range of football-related products, club jerseys, and prototype items. Among the most striking discoveries were several rare sample versions of football boots linked to global superstar Lionel Messi.
According to Nevel’s estimate, the total value of the stored goods is around $120,000.
Original Owner Gets In Touch
After the story went viral across social media, Nevel says he was contacted by the original renter of the storage unit.
That individual reportedly worked for Adidas and had access to the products through their job. Based on Nevel’s understanding, many of the items may have been sample pieces used for presentations or internal testing purposes. However, how such a large volume of products ultimately ended up abandoned in a storage unit remains unclear.
Unreleased Products Raise Questions
Adding even more intrigue, some of the items discovered were reportedly unreleased products that had not yet been made public. Following conversations with the alleged former owner, Nevel said he removed certain items from his videos.
He originally intended to sell part of the inventory through his own website, but has since paused those plans while the situation is being clarified. According to Nevel, he has been told that Adidas may want certain future or unreleased products returned, although no direct communication with the company has been confirmed at this stage.
Seeking An Amicable Resolution
Despite the unusual circumstances, Nevel has emphasized that he wants to handle the situation responsibly. He has stated that he does not want to create any issues for Adidas and is open to finding a fair resolution for all parties involved.
Given that he has previously collaborated with the brand, he is hopeful the matter can be resolved smoothly. At this point, however, it remains unclear which items, if any, will ultimately be returned. The $120,000 discovery continues to spark debate online. While some believe the items legally belong to the buyer who purchased the storage unit, others argue that Adidas should have the products returned.
