It's official: The two fan favorites Avatar: The Last Airbender and KPop Demon Hunters are getting new movies!
Animated movies and shows have been a hit among people of all ages around the whole world for many years. Now, two of these have announced that there will be new movies: Avatar: The Last Airbender and KPop Demon Hunters.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The original series of Avatar: The Last Airbender (or ATLA, for short) started airing in 2005 and currently stands at an IMDb score of 9,3. While many shows struggle to find the perfect ending, ATLA couldn't have done it any better. Over three seasons, the group around Aang didn't only grow as people, they also grew as fighters and as friends, gaining them a lot of fans that enjoy the show to this very day.
Now, after spin-off shows like The Legend of Korra, a live action movie that disappointed a lot of fans called The Last Airbender, a show on Netflix and even a few video games, fans will now finally get new content surrounding the original crew:

According to TopNews, the movie will come out some time this year, so in case you have a million questions (like: What even is the new plot of this new movie?) they will hopefully all be answered soon.
KPop Demon Hunters
After the truly massive success of the movie KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix in 2025, with Grammy and Oscar nominations and thousands of people listening to the soundtrack every single day, people were already expecting a part 2. And now it finally got confirmed: A sequel is in the works!

Though KPop Demon Hunters does not yet have a legacy that is quite as big as the one Avatar: The Last Airbender left behind, it is still massive news not only for fans, but also for anyone who believes animation should be more recognized as an art form. The characters Rumi, Mira and Zoey, as well as the voices behind them, especially EJAE, the singing voice of Rumi who also wrote many of the songs on the soundtrack, already made history and inspired many to maybe look deeper into Korean films and shows.
