He was afraid that he had let down his team and his community, but the opposite was true: everyone is SO proud of what Arda Saatçi accomplished over the past few days. Truly an incredibly impressive achievement!

It felt like the iconic scene from Rocky II where the title character runs through the streets and suddenly everyone starts running alongside him. That was exactly the feeling in the air last night. In Germany, it was already well past midnight, normally the kind of Monday night when people are thinking about sleep because the alarm goes off mercilessly early the next morning. And yet, countless people stayed awake, kept watching, and didn’t want to miss the moment.

While it was nighttime in Germany, extreme athlete Arda Saatçi was chasing the biggest goal of his life on the other side of the world. In the United States, it was midday when he crossed the finish line and made history, completing 373 miles in just over 123 hours under the toughest conditions imaginable.

Between Pain, Heat And Unbreakable Determination

Arda Saatçi spent more than 123 hours running across America. The original plan was to complete 373 miles in 96 hours, but challenges like this can’t simply be calculated once your body starts working against you. In the end, it took him longer, but nobody cared. Quite the opposite: viewers around the world were inspired by the fact that he never gave up and pushed through until the very end.

He had been on the road since Tuesday, with barely any real sleep, no proper recovery, and none of the normal breaks people are used to in everyday life. Showers, sleeping several hours in a row, or simply getting a moment to fully recharge were practically impossible. His body was pushed down to the bare minimum while his mind had no choice but to keep going. And that’s exactly what makes this achievement so extraordinary.

He was accompanied by a large team around RedBull, who documented the entire journey via a continuous livestream. People took turns running and filming, and at times even the runners themselves were also the cameramen. Others followed alongside him on bikes to capture every phase of the journey. A camper team also supported him, allowing at least short power naps whenever his body simply shut down.

The route led him, among other places, through Death Valley, one of the most extreme environments on Earth, where heat and exhaustion alone push any normal limits far beyond what the human body is meant to endure. The destination was the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, where his mother was already waiting for him.

He had promised her that he would eat an ice cream with her there on Mother’s Day, and that promise remained unshakable for him, no matter how difficult the journey became.

A Hype That Could No Longer Be Stopped

While Arda Saatçi was running, the internet was running its own race. Germany was fully engaged, but internationally the whole thing also turned into a massive topic. One moment that particularly stood out involved US streamer Marlon, one of the biggest names in the scene. He found Arda’s location, drove there spontaneously, and eventually ran about 8.70 miles alongside him in person to support him, clearly impressed by what Arda was achieving at that moment.

At the same time, a real “Arda effect” emerged on TikTok and Instagram. People shared videos, wrote comments, and described how motivated they felt by him. Some even started doing sports and going for runs, alone or in groups, while others finally tackled things they had been putting off for a long time, like studying for university. One sentence kept appearing over and over again: “If Arda can run for so long without real breaks, then I can finally start doing this too!

In the end, everything culminated in a moment watched simultaneously by millions. Over 620,000 viewers on Twitch, more than 1.5 million on YouTube, and countless others on TikTok were live as Arda crossed the finish line. In total, over 2 million people were watching at the same time, a new live viewer record showing just how massive this event had become. What an epic moment!

From The Promise To His Mother To The Emotional Finish-Line Moment

His route took him from Death Valley all the way to the pier in Los Angeles, but behind this extreme athletic performance lies something deeply personal. Arda Saatçi had promised his mother that he would eat an ice cream with her there on Mother’s Day, and that promise became his inner driving force. Every single step was also a step toward that moment. And when he finally crossed the finish line, everything came pouring out of him. He went straight to his mother, hugged her tightly for a long time, kissed her, and could no longer hold back his tears. After 123 hours, all the built-up tension left his body within seconds.

Arda Saatçi, whom many now simply call “Cyborg,” carries this nickname for a reason. His performances no longer feel like traditional sporting projects, but like shifts of human limits. Whether it’s the 1,864 miles from Berlin to New York in 74 days, the crossing of Japan from north to south in 43 days covering over 1,864 miles, or now the 373 miles in 123 hours under extreme conditions in the United States, every one of these challenges follows the same pattern:

He deliberately seeks out the moments where body and mind are supposed to give up, and it is exactly there that he begins to reveal his true strength.

After 373 Miles: And What Happens Now?

And while many people would talk about taking a break or processing an experience like this after such a project, it feels different with him. Those who know him understand that goals like these are rarely an ending for him. They are more of a transition into the next challenge. What exactly comes next, he keeps open. But after 373 miles through heat, sleep deprivation, and extreme mental states, one thing is clear: his challenges are not getting any smaller. Quite the opposite, they grow a little beyond what seems imaginable each time.

What will Arda Saatçi probably do first when he gets back home? Sleep first and then shower? Or shower first and then sleep? Or maybe just eat something first? And what do you even eat first after the body has gone through something like this? Everyone probably has a different answer.

What would you do first after something this extreme? Let us know in the comments.
