A swedish YouTuber uploaded a video, expressing thoughts about being too ugly to ever find love. But fate had something different in store for him.
8 years ago, in 2018, Swedish YouTuber David Martinsson uploaded a video to YouTube about his experiences being ugly. The video went viral and impacted his life in a way he would have never guessed. Now he comes back online with an exciting update to his life.
Being Ugly: My Experience
David uploaded the video with the Title: "Being Ugly: My Experience" to his channel NeverGiveUp. In the 24-minute-long video, he talks about his appearance and how it affected his life and his relationships. He supposes that his looks prevent him from ever finding love.
My entire life I have been treated quite bad. I feel really alone, and I feel like I was going to search YouTube for people with the same issue as me, and that is being really unattractive. Never in my life have I ever gotten a single compliment that´s been real.
At the time, David had been single for over a year and didn't have a lot of people to talk to, so he just wanted to make a video to rant about his feelings in hopes no one would ever see it.
An Unexpected Comment
Everything went very different than David anticipated. The video went viral and got 26 million views. Among many comments either supporting David or making fun of him (which is pretty much the most pathetic thing to do), one comment in particular stood out:
I actually think you're kinda cute tbh. I mean it.
A woman named Juliana commented this on David's video – and the rest is history...
The pair started talking through Discord, where David had a server wanting to help people going through a rough time – and where Juliana was a moderator.
Happy Ever After
Juliana keeps an Instagram and a TikTok profile where she shares pictures and life updates. Here we can see: Her and David got into a relationship, and one year later, the two got married. She then replied to her first comment on the video:
1 year later I´m his wife.
In December 2024, the couple now started a new chapter – they became parents!
In a recent interview by TMZ, Juliana answers the question what moved her to write that comment by stating:
I just found him cute.
The two seem very happy together and are convinced that they are meant for each other.
Today, David has a different outlook on his appearance and on love. He now thinks there are ways for "ugly people" to find love – it is just a lot harder. Furthermore, he does not care if the rest of the world finds him ugly, as long as his wife wants to be with him and is happy with him.
This is still one of the best love-stories of the internet.
