Maven has revealed a piece of news that has divided many Call of Duty fans.
Call of Duty League (CDL) caster Clint "Maven" Evans has announced that he is stepping away from the CDL for the "foreseeable future" after revealing that he is now in a relationship with his longtime casting partner Joe "MerK" DeLuca's ex-wife, Maurisa.
Maven shared the news on October 7, explaining that he had remained close with Maurisa following her divorce from MerK. According to Maven, their close friendship eventually developed into a romantic relationship.
"As some of you know, I was very close to my casting partner Joe and his family," Maven wrote. "Maurisa was one of my best friends. We remained friends, after they divorced, and along the way it became more than that and we started dating."
I'll be stepping away from the CDL for the foreseeable future.

As some of you know, I was very close to my casting partner Joe and his family. Maurisa was one of my best friends. We remained friends, after they divorced, and along the way it became more than that and we started...
Maven acknowledged that the situation was unusual, stating he understood how "unconventional/taboo it is." He also acknowledged that it was not something he "foresaw happening."
Maven Steps Away From Call of Duty Esports
Following the revelation, Maven confirmed that he would be stepping away from the CDL for the foreseeable future.
He did not explain whether the decision was made by himself, the league, or another party. Maven also did not indicate exactly how long he expects to be away from competitive Call of Duty, leading many to believe it will be an indefinite hiatus.
"I hope that one day I'll be back working on the CDL," Maven said. "If not, it was a hell of a ride, and I appreciate the love over the years."
A Familiar Voice Leaves the CDL
Maven and MerK have been among the most recognizable casting duos in competitive Call of Duty, having worked together across multiple eras of the game and its esport scene.
Their chemistry became a familiar part of competitive Call of Duty broadcasts, making Maven's departure especially saddening for longtime fans. Thank goodness we still have Chance and Miles.
MerK has not publicly commented on the situation at the time of writing. Maven, meanwhile, asked fans to continue supporting MerK, the CDL, and the rest of its broadcast talent.
