A viral video on social media shows a very fun method to cool down in summer.
Current temperatures are at a level that’s anything but pleasant for most people. Any sport other than swimming is probably out of the question – after all, you don’t want to sweat even more. But a viral video on TikTok shows a way to get some exercise and cool off at the same time: “Ice Crocs Skating.”
Just Pop Your Crocs In The Freezer
A video by “waffle.wizardz” that went viral on social media – and has racked up nearly 9 million views on TikTok so far – shows two men engaging in a somewhat unusual physical activity.
The two put their Crocs in the freezer, causing a large block of ice to form on the soles. With this creative invention, they then went outside, put them on, and … glided across the grass as if they were wearing real ice skates.
Ice skating – or rather, grass skating – with frozen shoes seems to work pretty well, because in the video, the men slide all the way down entire hills.
But the Crocs aren’t the only fashion statement in their outfits. The blue wizard hats they’re wearing instead of helmets make the whole thing seem even more bizarre.
Pretty Cool – But Also Pretty Dangerous
Even though the ice cube Crocs look very amusing, you should probably still be careful if you try this yourself. After all, the risk of slipping is pretty high, and you can fall quickly. But the whole thing doesn’t seem any more dangerous than regular figure skating, especially when compared to other extreme sports where tragic accidents often occur.
So far, there haven’t been any copycats, but the idea still seems to be getting a lot of positive feedback. In the comments, users joke that, compared to the two men, they aren’t making good enough use of their free will and praise the men’s creativity. Others point out that it might be wiser to wear a helmet – the magic hats probably don’t offer much protection in real life.
Even though the idea and the video are very entertaining, this probably still isn't enough to make it the sport of the future. But at least it would be a good way to cool off a bit in the summer. At the very least, your feet definitely won’t sweat.
What do you think of the idea? And would you maybe even try it out yourself? Feel free to let us know in the comments! :)
