Doja Cat tries to disable ads during her livestream until she realizes it's impossible. Fans now praise her for her actions.
Doja Cat is once again the talk of the internet – this time, however, not because of music or social media drama, but because of her Twitch streams. During a livestream, the rapper was surprised to learn that she cannot completely disable advertising for her viewers.
Doja Cat Wanted To Turn Off Ads For Her Viewers
The american rapper occasionally goes live on Twitch, playing video games or talking to her fans in her chat. She now has over 500,000 followers on the platform. On March 3, 2026, she went live to play some fortnite to nearly 6,000 viewers. While watching, her fans noticed the high frequency of ads and began complaining to Doja Cat.
She reacted immediately and promised to turn the ads off.
But soon she realized that this is not as easy as it sounds. She even asked her viewers:
Does anybody know how to get rid of ads?

Twitch Doesn't Allow Ads to Be Completely Disabled
As she clicked through the settings, she finally realized that she couldn't remove ads completely. As a verified creator, she can only reduce them to about one ad per hour, which she immediately did. The rapper reacted with visible confusion and commented on the restriction with a surprised “What the...?”.
Advertisements are a central part of Twitch's business model. Viewers usually see pre-roll or mid-roll ads unless they have ad-free access through a subscription or special programs.
Streamers can trigger commercial breaks themselves or influence their frequency, but they don't always have the option to disable ads completely – even if they would like to.
Fans Want More Streamers To Be Like Doja Cat
Although the moment was more accidental than intentional, Doja Cat won over many viewers with it.
Why can't all streamers be like this?
one person asked on X, praising the rapper for trying to limit the ad-exposure of her viewers.
The situation shows once again how frustrated many viewers are with commercial breaks on the platform and has reignited the debate about how much advertising is acceptable on Twitch – and how much is too much.
