Rockstar's highly anticipated open-world game could take up a huge chunk of players' console storage.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time, but you might want to start clearing some space on your consoles before it's released.
According to several reports, the upcoming installment in the GTA franchise will reportedly require a whopping 210 GB of storage space.
GTA 6 Could Take Up Your Storage Space
The reported figure applies to the standard edition of GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 only, which would set you back $79.99. However, Rockstar has yet to officially confirm the download size, so you should treat the information as a leak rather than an official piece of information.
Still, 210 GB is a substantial amount of storage, especially for owners of the original PS5. This particular console comes with 825 GB of internal storage, although only around 667 GB is available for games and other content. This means GTA 6 could take up nearly a third of the usable space.

For comparison, this reported file size is considerably larger than several other major open-world releases. Elden Ring requires approximately 65 GB, while Marvel's Spider-Man 2 takes up around 98 GB. Assassin's Creed Shadows, meanwhile, sits just above the 100 GB mark.
Interestingly, GTA 6 would be roughly double the file size of Rockstar's previous major release, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Xbox and Special Edition Sizes Remain Unknown
There are still a few unanswered questions surrounding the game's storage requirements on other consoles. The Xbox Series X|S version's file size is still unclear, although it is expected to be similar.
Details about file size for the more expensive $99.99 Ultimate Edition on both consoles are also unavailable.
Fortunately, the wait for launch day is not too far away. Rockstar has previously confirmed that GTA 6 pre-loading will begin at midnight local time on November 12, meaning you will have a full week to prepare before its November 19 release.
