Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's latest Minecraft Hardcore challenge has already descended into chaos.
Speed accidentally lost around 10 hours of progress, sending Kai into a spectacular meltdown.
The duo began their latest Hardcore marathon on August 7, with the goal of defeating every major boss in Minecraft.
Unlike a normal Minecraft world, Hardcore mode means that dying ends the run, forcing players to start over. The pair gave themselves a 10-day deadline to complete the challenge.
IShowSpeed's Piglin Encounter Ends In Disaster
The latest disaster happened when IShowSpeed entered the Nether and encountered a Piglin while being under-equipped.
Speed was killed, instantly wiping out the world and around 10 hours of progress. The death happened roughly 75 hours into their overall marathon, meaning the 10-hour figure refers to the progress lost in that particular run rather than the total length of the challenge.
Kai Cenat's reaction was immediate. After realizing what had happened, he buried his face in his hands before breaking down and leaving the camera.
He also slammed his chair as the frustration of losing hours of work finally boiled over.
The death was particularly painful because the pair had already invested days into the challenge and had suffered several previous deaths along the way.
Another Minecraft Marathon Nightmare
This isn't the first time Kai and Speed have struggled through a Hardcore Minecraft marathon.
Their previous attempt in 2024 became infamous after the duo spent more than 105 hours trying to complete the game.
They reportedly went through 42 restarts before eventually defeating the Ender Dragon. At one point, their constant deaths and arguments even led them to bring in a therapist during the stream.
Their latest challenge was supposed to be another attempt to prove they could conquer Minecraft Hardcore, but Speed's Piglin encounter has once again shown just how quickly everything can fall apart.
With the duo still facing a 10-day deadline, they now have to rebuild their progress and hope another Minecraft disaster doesn't send them straight back to square one.
