The Metal Gear Solid series is known for its stealth mechanics, bizarre gadgets and, of course, its iconic cardboard boxes. Now, one of the franchise's most famous hiding spots is getting a completely new purpose: cats can use them for their own secret missions. Konami has announced a special Metal Gear Solid collection for cats, including scratch boxes, plush toys and collars.

Snake Gets Competition From A Cat

For the unusual collaboration, Konami has teamed up with One Eared Uno, a well-known cat influencer, and his owner Kat Curtis. The cat gets his name from the fact that he is missing one ear and has reportedly built a social media following of more than five million followers together with his owner.

Uno was originally found as a stray near a dumpster before being taken in by Kat Curtis.
He has since become a genuine social media star. Now, Uno is getting his own connection to the world of Snake and Big Boss.

Konami has also created a special gameplay video for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, in which Uno helps showcase the new cat collection.
Fans will also have the opportunity to meet Uno and Kat Curtis at CatCon 2026.

Metal Gear Solid Gets Cat-Themed Merch

The centerpiece of the collection is likely to be the cardboard scratch boxes. They are inspired by the famous boxes used by Big Boss and Old Snake in the games to hide from enemies. While the box works as a stealth tool for Snake, it could simply be the perfect hiding spot for a cat.

The collection also includes plush toys and cat collars inspired by Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The products are expected to be available in limited quantities.

The collaboration also ties in with the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which launches on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

Anyone hoping to get their paws on the new cat collection will have to wait, however. The products will be available at CatCon 2026 on October 10 and 11 at the Pasadena Convention Center. You can buy tickets here. Some items will also be available through the OKS Gear Shop during the event.

And if you're looking for more Konami news, Konami is now at gamescom 2026 in Cologne.
The company's booth can be found in Hall 7.1, where visitors can check out titles including SILENT HILL: Townfall, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
