It’s clear that this is just a stereotype, yet the American streamer and YouTuber Asmongold seems to fit the bill. He recently announced during a stream that he would choose video games over sex – because he " really likes video games.”

Asmongold, whose real name is Zachariah Holt, is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. But he’s not only known for his content, but also for his … questionable lifestyle.
In the past, Asmongold drew attention for his unhealthy eating habits. Beef jerky for breakfast. More beef jerky as snacks. Then off to Chipotle, an American fast-food chain that serves Mexican food. And for dinner? Ice cream and chocolate.
When it comes to personal hygiene, Asmongold isn’t exactly a good representative of the gaming community either. He has reportedly changed his pillowcase only twice in his entire life. On top of that, he hasn’t showered for three months – his skin? Healthier than ever! (At least according to him)
In general, the streamer is known for his messy room. He rarely cleans his house. At one point he even found dead animals inside.
So the 36-year-old fits right into the image many people have of video game enthusiasts: unkempt and unhealthy.
Are Video Games Better Than Sex?
It seems the streamer’s love life isn’t exactly going any better either. He recently said in a stream that even if he could, “try to hook up with different girls every single week.”
“I’m more interested in video games than sex if I’m being honest. I just really like video games. Girls are nice, sure, but I really like video games. That’s my favorite thing to do.”

Still, the streamer has been in several relationships in the past and has even given his viewers dating tips. His recommendation for the first date is taking a girl to Taco Bell.
Ultimately, there’s really nothing problematic about what he said. (At least this statement is unproblematic but in the past the streamer made strongly racist remarks.) If Asmongold would rather play video games than have sex, that’s perfectly fine. It’s just that, by doing so, he fits the typical gamer stereotype, which many people find very entertaining.
