The actor James Handy has been fatally stabbed in his Los Angeles home.
James Handy was found dead in his Los Angeles home on June 3. The 81-year-old actor, known for blockbuster films such as “Top Gun: Maverick”, was fatally stabbed in the chest. The murder suspect is his partner’s son.
"I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin."
The police investigated the crime scene after they received a 911 call reporting “unknown trouble” as reported by PEOPLE. The caller stated:
I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.
Authorities assume, though cannot confirm, that the caller was Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend.
After the call, Handy was found unconscious in the front yard of his home in Tarzana, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. The actor was transported to the hospital, but the wound was fatal and he passed away.
Michael Gledhill, 44, and his mother, Handy’s current partner, lived with him in his Los Angeles home. The suspect was arrested and taken to Van Nuys Jail. Gledhill was charged with one count of murder. His bail is currently set at $2 million.
The streets around the crime scene have been blocked off by police. Authorities began their investigation with door-to-door inquiries. The motive for the murder is still unknown, and while Gledhill remains the biggest suspect, he has not yet been found guilty.
