According to estimates from Sensor Tower, Grand Theft Auto 6 has generated approximately $751 million in digital preorder revenue across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The figures, which were updated on November 3, indicate that around 7.71 million copies have already been purchased ahead of the game's November 19 release. Interestingly, more than $100 million of that revenue reportedly came in over the previous two weeks alone.

We last reported at the start of September that Rockstar's upcoming title garnered around 4.8 million pre-orders and approximately $476 million in pre-order revenue, meaning numbers have almost doubled since then.

PlayStation Accounts for Most GTA 6 Preorders

Sensor Tower's estimates also reveal a considerable difference between the two platforms, with PlayStation accounting for the majority of GTA 6's digital preorders.

The PS5 reportedly accounts for approximately 5.74 million copies, representing 74% of all preorders and generating an estimated $559 million in revenue.

Meanwhile, Xbox Series X|S accounts for the remaining 26%, with around 1.97 million copies sold digitally and approximately $192 million in revenue.

GTA 6 Could Surpass GTA 5's Launch Record

The reported $751 million is particularly impressive when compared to GTA 5's launch performance.

When GTA 5 arrived in September 2013, it generated more than $800 million in worldwide sales during its first 24 hours. It subsequently crossed the $1 billion mark within three days, setting a major milestone for the gaming industry.

With GTA 6 already approaching that $800 million figure before its official release, there's genuine anticipation surrounding how much money the sequel could generate during its opening weekend.

For now, Rockstar's next blockbuster is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital preloading will begin on November 10, giving players a little extra time to prepare for the hefty 210 GB game.
