Amid tournaments, trying out new games, and community meetups, an incident at CAGGTUS Leipzig 2026 is drawing significant attention.

For three days, Leipzig once again became the center of gaming, streaming, and community culture. CAGGTUS Leipzig attracted numerous visitors in 2026 as well, all coming together to play games, meet creators, and simply have a good time – just as the event is known for. Since its very first edition, the expo has stood for exactly that: a relaxed community convention where togetherness is at the heart of everything. Whether LAN parties, tournaments, or meet & greets – the atmosphere is usually described as laid-back and welcoming.

All the more surprising, then, was a moment on stage that seemed completely out of place with that spirit.

A Shocking Scene Leaves The Crowd Speechless

During the award ceremony of a Counter-Strike tournament, several streamers stepped onto the stage. At that moment, MAUschine approached his colleague Spidergum and, as he walked past, delivered a forceful slap. The situation unfolded abruptly and unexpectedly, with Spidergum even losing his glasses as a result. For both the live audience and viewers on the stream, it was initially unclear how to interpret what had just happened. The host reacted immediately and removed MAUschine from the stage.

Spidergum reportedly could hardly believe what had just happened live on stage and in the stream.

The clip quickly spread online and sparked widespread reactions. Not only in German-speaking communities but also in English-language Reddit forums, users began discussing how such an incident could occur. Many expressed confusion, especially as previous comments from the streamer began circulating in which he had already shown hostility toward Spidergum the day before. During a CS2 stream, MAUschine had reacted angrily to a clip of Spidergum, saying: “If I had seen that earlier, I would’ve punched him.”

In light of this, some are now questioning whether the situation could have been prevented in advance.

This has brought a single moment into sharp focus that otherwise seems entirely out of place with the spirit of CAGGTUS. Aside from this incident, the festival itself reportedly remained harmonious – exactly as visitors expect from a community-focused expo: relaxed, respectful, and shaped by togetherness both offline and online.

On platforms like Reddit, users initially speculated about possible consequences for the player, ranging from sanctions by tournament organizers or Counter-Strike authorities to actions by CAGGTUS itself, including a potential ban from future events.

The consequences have since become clear: the Counter-Strike player MAUschine received a 10-year ban from DACH CS following the incident during the award ceremony. In addition, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) conducted an investigation and issued a lifetime ban from ESIC-member events. CAGGTUS itself has not yet made an official statement regarding the incident.
