No more "gold, gold, gold" in Germany?!
Jynxzi has now begun the CS2 grind, but while he is joking about spending thousands of dollars on cases, players in Germany might have a very different experience when opening them in the future.
Jyxnxzi Has Begun His CS2 Arc
Jynxzi is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. With his extroverted personality and endless energy while playing games like Clash Royale, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six Siege, at least one crash out is pretty much guaranteed every stream. Now he plans to get into Counter-Strike 2 and, according to him, it has a lot of similarities with his main game:
“Chat, I’m gonna grind this game. It’s simple, it’s very similar to Siege, like, ridiculously similar to Siege."
He then experienced the aiming gap between him and an experienced player and was shocked. However, he accepted that the learning curve for aiming in this game is going to be steep.
Still, there is something even more important when you get into CS2, and that is opening cases, of course. And who would be a better mentor in that regard than Mr. Gold himself: ohnePixel. The two were opening cases together and Jynxzi seemed to like it:
“The cases are going to be fun, but I have to keep myself in check so I don’t end up lighting $80k on fire in the course of 2 months. But, I’m really, really, really liking this [...], that was fun. CS is peak.”
So while Jynxzi is getting into CS2 and especially into opening cases, players in Germany may soon have to say goodbye to that feeling.
ohnePixel Considers Moving Countries After CS2 Case Changes
While ohnePixel seemingly had fun getting a new player into opening cases… ah, I mean into playing CS2, his good mood vanished over the weekend because Valve introduced the X-ray scanner system for cases in Germany. The system has existed in France since 2019. With these scanners you can see the contents of a case up front, but you need to purchase the case to use the scanner again. So you can’t open other cases until you have purchased the scanned one.
Naturally, ohnePixel was not impressed by this change, to put it lightly. He even discussed the idea of moving to another country just to avoid this system:
"I already looked into it. I could move to America, India, Switzerland. Those are the options."
So even though he is living in the Netherlands, his account appears to be impacted by the new changes. He also emphasized that he is not as addicted to opening cases anymore as he once was, yet he is considering moving to another continent just so he can continue opening cases.
The reason for the system is local gambling laws in Germany that categorize random loot rewards as a form of gambling, and the X-ray scanner system is designed to avoid that. Valve is also facing a lawsuit from the state of New York over the gambling nature of CS cases.
So we will see how this will play out, but imagining the different destinations, ohnePixel with a Swiss accent would be hilarious.
