Not too long ago, 100 Thieves signed Spencer "Hiko" Martin as their first Valorant player. Now the organization added four more to complete the roster.
A lifestyle brand and a gaming organization, that’s 100 Thieves. The North American company made their intent on joining the Valorant pro scene clear at the start of June. Spencer “Hiko” Martin was the first player to get signed by 100 Thieves. The ex-CS:GO rifler retired from Valve’s tactical shooter in order to pursue a career in Riot’s one. With the official announcement it was also revealed that Hiko will be the captain of the team.
Now, three weeks later 100 Thieves have completed their Valorant roster, by hiring four new players at the same time. The new additions are all coming from an orgless team that already participated in some Valorant events.
Here’s also a list of the new players.
- Keane "Valliate" Alonso
- Zachary "Venerated" Roach
- Diondre "YaBoiDre" Bond
- Alfred "Pride" Choi
Valliate, Venerated, YaBoiDre, and Pride were part of team Highround which took part in a number of Valorant tournaments in April and May. The squad was gathered by Tanner “7Teen” Curtis who is also the former PUBG coach of Team Liquid. Yesterday the four abandoned their former team in order to join 100 Thieves. This left Highround with only two members, Jaden "Vegas" James and 7Teen. There’s a high chance they’ll either fill in for the missing players or get signed by another org.
Each of the four new players has previously competed in PUBG before making the switch to Riot’s Valorant. The first test for 100 Thieves starts today or tomorrow (depending on your region) with the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown. The event offers $50,000 in prize money which will be distributed only among the top 4. It’ll feature a total of 16 teams, most of which represent some serious organizations as well as some amateur squads who made it through qualifiers. Here’s the full list of teams:
- Gen.G Esports
- Team SoloMid
- Team Ninja
- 100 Thieves
- FaZe Clan
- Charlotte Phoenix
- together we are terrific
- Spot Up
- Echo 8
At the event, 100 Thieves will meet some other famous players who made the switch to Valorant like the king of Fortnite Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham, Tyson "TenZ" Ngo and many others. The T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown will also be the first event for FaZe clan’s Corey "corey" Nigra who just joined Valorant. So far the two teams that managed to stand out in recent events are T1 and TSM, will 100 Thieves be able to take them down?
