Before you scream bloody murder – yes, you can opt out of crossplay, so don't go blaming aim bots, controllers, mice or whatever it is you like to blame your lack of skill on. Opinion time: We love that EA is making this move to unite the player bases. Console wars and PC master race is so passé... we're over it. Is there Battlefield 2042 Cross-Play Between PS4 & PS5 & PC?
No. You probably will have spotted the limitations of this crossplay function already just by examining the two little bullet points above: There is not Battlefield 2042 cross play between the last gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One and the next-gen modern systems PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC. Basically, last-gen sticks to last-gen and next-gen and PC stick together.
The reason for this is that the next-gen platforms and PC will feature 128 player matches, while the last-gen consoles will only have up to 64 players in any given match. Also, the map sizes will be different, so you can see how it'll be impossible for modern systems and last-gen systems to play together. Sad.
