Tonight the new Call of Duty will be officially revealed by Activision: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. As we already know, the shooter is set in the Cold War era, but as dataminers have now discovered, it could be a direct successor to the original.
CoD 2020 is called Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War - that much we know already. We also know that the official unveiling of the latest part of the series will take place tonight. But now dataminers might've found out how the shooter is related to the original Black Ops.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and the CoD Timeline
According to ModernWarzone and Call of Duty Tracker, the official game description has appeared on the net along with various versions with talk of an Ultimate Edition and various bonuses for pre-orders.The description states that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel to Call of Duty Black Ops released in 2010. Interesting, because Black Ops 2 is also said to have been a direct successor. So how does that fit into the CoD timeline?It's possible that Cold War plays in-between the two Black Ops offshoots, but we don't know for sure. However, we will probably find out tonight during the reveal event at 10:30 a.m. PST / 7:30 p.m. CEST. In the description it says translated:

The leaked description also refers to the multiplayer - several weapons and equipment, a zombie mode and the "next generation" of the multiplayer as well. A first hint to a release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X?There will also be a Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Beta before the release of the game, which will be made available to all those who pre-order. We are curious. According to the current leak, the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War release could be on November 13, 2020.
