Forget teammates, you can go into battle on your own! Call of Duty: Warzone can now be played solo as well as in teams of three, Infinity Ward announced.

You can now rampage through Call of Duty: Warzone by yourself

Call of Duty: Warzone is less than a couple of weeks old but is already through the roof in terms of popularity. Up until now, the Battle Royale only had the option to fight in teams of three against the remaining 147 players.

While many fans like this as it makes getting started a little easier if you're not completely on your own, some community members would have liked to see a solo mode from the start. It was possible to start a match as a trio before and disable the option to fill up the squad, but then you played alone against 49 teams of three. Not very motivating.

As part of a playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, Infinity Ward, the developer of CoD, added the new Solos mode on Tuesday evening. Among the well-known modes Plunder and Battle Royale it is now also possible to select Battle Royale Solo. However, it is not yet known if this mode is limited in time or if it will stay in the game permanently. Since a solo mode is standard in Battle Royale titles like Fortnite or PUBG, it is quite possible that it will remain in the game as a regular option.

Since the community's request was granted so quickly and a new mode was added only one week after release, one can ask what the future holds. In the comments to the announcement tweet, among other things, a squad or duo mode is requested. So it would be quite possible that these will also find their way into the game with future updates.

Until then, you’re left with the option of wrecking enemies on your own or sticking to the original three-man team setup.
