Co D Vanguard Announcement
The reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard was awesome! We have all announced information about CoD: Vanguard! | © Activision

After weeks of leaks and rumors about Call of Duty: Vanguard, we finally got the official reveal in Warzone. In addition to the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal trailer, we also received a detailed blog post with tons of information about Call of Duty: Vanguard. So let's summarize what has been confirmed so far about Vanguard's campaign, multiplayer, zombies, and release date.

Yes, we have blasphemed a lot about CoD: Vanguard in the past. The whole community complained about its World War 2 setting, some even going as far as to proclaim Call of Duty "dead". It was all bollocks, though, with the trailer blowing us away. It's really good, to be honest, and you should check it out below. We are also going to jump right into the Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign, multiplayer, and zombies details...

So, are you hyped? Yeah? Well, in that case, let's see what else was confirmed for Call of Duty: Vanguard in the official Call of Duty blog post. First of all, CoD: Vanguard is again based on the Modern Warfare engine, which has been further developed and will offer us an incredibly photo-realistic experience. Thus, we expect movement, weapons sound and details just like in Modern Warfare. If you are a sadist and liked the look and feel of BOCW, then you will be left disappointed.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Campaign Details

In the CoD: Vanguard campaign, we will play as different members of the so-called Task Force one. The Task Force laid the foundation for today's Special Forces during World War 2. In total, we will slip into the shoes of four different characters, all based on real historical figures.

  • Private Lucas Riggs, 20th Battalion, Australian 9th Infantry Division, British Eighth Army.
  • Sergeant Arthur Kingsley of the 9th Parachute Battalion, British Army.
  • Lieutenant Wade Jackson, Scouting Squadron Six, United States Navy.
  • Lieutenant Polina Petrova of the 138th Rifle Division, Red Army.

We have already dealt with the historical characters in a separate article, if you would like to find out more about each character.

The campaign will take place on the Eastern Front, in North America, the Pacific, and on the Western Front. Stalingrad, Midway and France have already been confirmed as locations. We don't know much about the story yet, but there should be an extra campaign trailer next week, which we will of course also report on.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer Details

First thing's first, CoD: Vanguard will start with the incredible number of 20 maps! Yes, exactly, 20 ready-made maps right at launch. It feels like there aren't even that many maps in BOCW... to this day. 16 of these starting maps are supposed to be for the regular multiplayer mode, while four maps appear for the Champion Hill mode. Champion Hill is Vanguard's version of the well-known 2v2 Gunfight from Modern Warfare. In addition to well-known features, Sledgehammer Games wants to introduce an expanded armory and a caliber system. An extra multiplayer reveal will follow at a later date.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies Details

The Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard is being developed by Treyarch, and will continue the Dark Aether story-line. Though Sledgehammer Games have had their own Zombies modes in the past, this time, the responsibility has been given to Treyarch. The co-operative mode will also get its own reveal around Halloween. That being said, we have extensively covered Vanguard's Zombies mode in the below article:

Will CoD: Vanguard Have Cross-Play?

Yes, Call of Duty: Vanguard will have cross-play. The entire community on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC will be able to plunge into multiplayer and zombies together. There will also be cross-platform-progression again, so you can play with your profile on both console and PC, and take your progress with you.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Anti-Cheat & Warzone Map

A new Pacific Map for Warzone will launch alongside CoD: Vanguard, as well as a brand-new sophisticated anti-cheat system. As expected, a new map for Warzone will come with the new game. The map will likely have a Pacific War theme, and will be significantly larger than Verdansk. Like BOCW, Vanguard will later be fully integrated into Warzone, so that you can use all weapons in the Battle Royale. The biggest news that many gamers will be happy about is that an anti-cheat system is finally being introduced into Warzone. Here's all the info:

CoD: Vanguard Release Date

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on November 5, 2021. It can be pre-ordered now, though, and don't worry, there will be an open beta, so you can try it out before you buy it (you would need to pre-order the game, and then cancel the pre-order if you don't want the game).

There will also be an Alpha starting this month on August 27, but this will be PlayStation exclusive.

Of course, we will also cover Call of Duty: Vanguard in detail as soon as it's out! So stay tuned, and tell us what you think of the trailer...
