The first Halloween event in CoD: Warzone will start tonight, October 20. Jumpscares, horror bundles, zombies – here you can find out everything about The Haunting of Verdansk.

The Halloween event was already announced in the roadmap for Season 6, but at that time there was no information on what it would exactly contain - that has changed now. Yesterday, one day before the event started, we got an extra roadmap just for The Haunting of Verdansk.

The event begins tonight, October 20, at 19:00 CEST, and will end on November 3. You have exactly two full weeks to get into the scary adventure and collect lots of Halloween cosmetics.

Shocking Horror Bundles

For Halloween, there are three fresh bundles in the store that will give you a real horror feeling. With Dr. Karlov, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and Billy the Puppet from the Saw movies, three horror killers make their way into Warzone. We already went through the exact contents of the individual bundles in this article. The new knife skins are really good:

There is new content not only for Warzone, so here is a list of the most important new features for Warzone and Modern Warfare that The Haunting of Verdansk has in store for you

Warzone

Trick or Treat

Throughout the entire event, special trick-or-treat-loot boxes will spawn in 16 selected areas in Verdansk. These boxes will reward you with either one of 16 permanent rewards or a jump scare. Among the possible rewards are weapon blueprints, calling cards, sprays, and pendants. One of the coolest rewards is probably the Pumpkin Punisher blueprint for the Grey 5.56:

Verdansk at Night

During the Haunting of Verdansk event, there will be an option in the menu to enter Verdansk at night. Nothing changes in the usual Battle Royale game mode, except that it is much darker, and you should definitely consider packing a thermal visor. The full moon makes sure that it's not pitch black, especially operators with black clothes but should be almost invisible. Maybe you'll even get some of the new scary effects. Supposedly there is a ghost train near the train station and rumor has it that there is a chainsaw killer in Krovnik Farmland.

Zombie Royale

The zombies bring some new mechanics to Warzone. Did it always bother you when you die fast, only to have bad luck in the gulag and lose right away? Then look forward to Zombie Royale!

In this mode, all killed players come back as zombies. As a zombie, you can't use weapons, but you move faster, jump higher and further, do more melee damage, and can see in the dark. Killed players drop syringes, which can be collected by zombies. If you manage to collect two of these syringes, you can re-enter as a living player with your loadout. The last squad with a surviving player wins the match.

Modern Warfare

The Pumpkin Heads Come

No matter which multiplayer mode you play during the Halloween event, you will encounter opponents with pumpkin heads. As soon as you collect three kills without dying, your head will turn into a pumpkin, then when you reach the 10 kills, the pumpkin will start to burn. This looks cool, of course, but is also a subtle hint for other players that the operator with the burning pumpkin head must be eliminated as soon as possible before he unlocks even better killstreaks.

In addition to the pumpkin heads, there are other adjustments in different game modes. For example, the flags in Domination are replaced by scarecrows, and dog tags in Kill Confirmed are now skulls.

Onslaughter

In this mode, the teams have to try to get control of a Juggernaut and get to a certain target area with it. Adjust your loadout accordingly to get rid of the heavily armored Juggernauts as fast as possible.

TDM Snipers Only

This mode is definitely not for us, but maybe for you. As the name already suggests, Team Deathmatch is played here - but only with sniper rifles. Additionally, you can't just take your own loadout with you but can choose from 5 premade sniper loadouts.

Are you already looking forward to "The Haunting of Verdansk"? We can't wait to get into the Zombie Royale mode and are curious about what kind of jumpscares are waiting for us in the new trick-or-treat-loot-boxes.
