It looks like Modern Warfare 3 Remastered is not going to happen anytime soon, after Activision confirmed that the game is not in development. It seems that a Modern Warfare 3 Remaster does not exist, dispelling rumors that have been circulating for months. How do we know that Modern Warfare 3 Remastered does not exist? Well, you better keep reading.

Modern Warfare 3 was a pretty well-received game back in 2011, but the community wasn't so crash-hot on it. Despite of this, many leaks and rumors have suggested that at least the Modern Warfare 3 campaign would be remastered, as a follow up to 2019's Modern Warfare, and last year's Modern Warfare 2 campaign remaster. Well, it seems that we were all wrong: Modern Warfare 3 does not exist!

It seems that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Remastered doesn't exist, and thus the rumors have been disproved. Well, that's a shame. Hang on, what were the rumors? Let's catch you up on everything that isn't true...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 "Does Not Exist"

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 "does not exist", according to a statement made by Activision. In a statement to CharlieIntel, Activision confirmed that a Modern Warfare 3 remaster is not happening (at least right now). The statement follows months upon months of rumors, after both Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 were remastered over the last couple of years.

“A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect.”

As of writing, there are no confirmed Call of Duty remasters in the works over at Activision, and we expect that there won't be for quite a while. This is due to Raven Software's intense focus on Warzone, Sledgehammer's work on Call of Duty 2021 / Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard, Treyarch's continued BOCW support, and Infinity Ward's rumored development of a follow-up of 2019's Modern Warfare.

People have been claiming for months that a Modern Warfare 3 Remaster was coming. It was said to be in campaign form, similar to Modern Warfare 2's campaign's remaster last year. It is also rumored that a Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer remaster was going to make the jump onto next-gen and last-gen consoles at some point this year. The latter is yet to be confirmed or denied by Activision.

Activision has been in the wars over the last few weeks, with multiple games receiving quite negative attention amidst a sex discrimination and harassment lawsuit that just doesn't seem to let up. As for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Remastered, it's dead and gone. Sorry.
