Call of Duty: Vanguard's Champion Hill Alpha Trailer
"Knock out the other teams to win the day" later this week, when the Call of Duty: Vanguard Champion Hill Alpha will drop. The new trailer, released in the wee-hours of Monday morning, is a brief, fifty-seven second affair, that gives us not only a glimpse into what we can expect from the Vanguard Alpha, but also what we can expect from the game's new Champion Hill mode. We have to say that it seems like Sledgehammer Games are pulling out all the stops for Call of Duty: Vanguard, and we are getting more and more hyped by the day. Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Details
In the trailer above we saw not only the new Champion Hill mode, but a variety of cool new features in Call of Duty: Vanguard, including long-rumored environmental destruction. Now, we have to admit: we've been waiting for that for a while, and are pretty happy to see that things... break... when you shoot them. Neat, right? Totally not something that should have been in CoD for years...
What's included in the CoD: Vanguard Alpha?
The Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha will exclusively feature Champion Hill, and will include four maps. In Champion Hill, eight teams fight it out in 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 games, earning cash for upgrades, and engaging in violence until there is one, and only one winner. It is more-or-less a last-man-standing mode where you need to kill your opponents, running down their life counters whilst collecting cash and buying upgrades. The CoD: Vanguard Alpha will feature 2v2 and 3v3 games across four maps.
Speaking of Call of Duty: Vanguard's new Champion Hill mode Alpha, Activision said the following:
You can expect, and are encouraged, to explore reactive environments across the four maps within Champion Hill, breaking destructible barriers, doors, and other obstructions to create new sight lines or catch a would-be camper by surprise.
Is the CoD: Vanguard Alpha PlayStation Exclusive?
The Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha will be PlayStation exclusive. Sorry Xbox boys and PC girls, the Vanguard Alpha will only be on PlayStation. Don't you worry, though, it will also only feature Champion Hill. So if Champion Hill sucks... then you won't miss out on much. On the flip-side, if it's awesome... then you're missing out on a lot! Alright, alright, alright, we'll stop teasing, we'll stop gloating. Eventually.
What Vanguard Champion Hill Maps Are in the Alpha?
- Airstrip
- Trainyard
- Market
- Courtyard
It is unknown whether the maps advertised as available in the Call of Duty: Vanguard PlayStation and Champion Hill Alpha will be all of those available at launch. That being said, it is very impressive that we will be getting four maps in the CoD: Vanguard Alpha. As I already mentioned, we will be able to play the new mode in 2v2 or 3v3, and we also have to admit... some of these maps look absolutely incredible! It's certainly a breath of fresh air, considering the utter lack of original maps in Black Ops Cold War.
When is the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Release Date?
The Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha will be available for free from August 27 to August 29. Thus, we certainly know what we'll be doing this weekend! What? Well... playing Call of Duty: Vanguard, of course! We are very curious to get our hands on Vanguard's brand new Champion Hill mode, test it out, and report back to you with our thoughts very soon.
