Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is celebrating a free zombie's week, available to all gamers who do not own the full game. The free version of Zombies includes a collection of game modes and maps, and is very easy to access, no matter your platform of choice.
Last week, Call of Duty Zombies 115 Day graced our lives with its annual tradition of announcements, goodies, and hype. Top of the list was a free week of Call of Duty Zombies in Black Ops Cold War, which will run until January 21. But how do we access it, and what is included? Well, that's why we're here!
How Do I Jump In?
BOCW Zombies Free Access week can be accessed through pretty much any of the game stores on your platforms of choice. That could be the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, or even Steam. The download is separate from the main game, called “Black Ops Cold War Zombies Free Access”. The event is running from January 14 at 10AM PT, and will conclude on January 21.
Well, that's pretty swell (we are so sorry that we said ‘swell'…. oof), and it is perfect if you are the kind of noob that has not even dipped your toes in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The game's expensive, we get it, and you might be a tad skeptical considering the mixed-reception that the game has received. Thus, this is the perfect time for you to jump in!
What's Included in the Bloody Thing?
First thing's first, you don't need to be rude. There is a bunch included and you shouldn't speak to us like that, it's impolite. Okay, now that we have made that clear, we're going to jump into what will be included in this fabulous free trial.
Years ago, back on platforms like the Xbox 360, free trials were common place. Makes sense, right? You don't have to f**king buy the game without knowing if you will actually like it! It used to be the norm, and it was great for all of us. But of course, the greedy b**tards took that away from us and now we have to rely on reviews and prior experience to know if a game is worth your hard-earned dollars.
Well, not for the next week! Download the Zombies Free Access week and you will gain access to some fantastic free trial content:
- Die Maschine: This one is an abandoned laboratory in Poland that is now overrun with zombies. You need to infiltrate the area and survive as long as you can, whilst using multiple weapon types and a bunch of cool Scorestreaks and Field Upgrades.
- Cranked: This is a bit of a more urgent mode, where your character will explode if you don't kill another zombie until the time runs out. Keep killing, keep shooting, or start exploding!
On PlayStation, you also have access to Onslaught. Another example of tedious platform exclusivity, but PlayStation players can access this mode, where you are confined to a small area of the map by a Dark Aether Orb. Oof, what a great mode. F**king platform exclusivity really sucks.
Remember: You can access this content for free until January 21 on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC. Better get on it!
