Vanguard Weapon Setup Guides - M1928

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches with a ton of classic WWII guns. But for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from, and we can use ten at once. So, where do you even begin? What attachments do you need? Don't worry, we'll give you all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides. And today: the M1928.

The M1928 will be very popular. This puppy is fantastic in close-range, and with these attachments, it's something else. We'll be upfront with you on one thing though – this is not a versatile SMG. This is strictly short-range, the damage dropoff and recoil control over any distance beyond 20m is punishing. But as we said, it's fantastic up-close so great for classic MP, just expect the MP40 to get more attention around the time of Warzone integration.

Check out our tier ranking of every weapon in Vanguard for an idea of how well the weapon places. Needless to say, it's high enough that we think this makes a solid choice for any player to start leveling.

The M1928 Attachment Setup

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Chariot 2.5" Rapid
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: CGC S Adjustable
  • Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
  • Magazine: 8MM Kurz 100 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Frenzy
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

This setup is completely focused on CQC, if you want something for medium to long range you should look for another weapon. In our M1928 setup, we sacrifice precision and recoil control for rate of fire, damage and mobility. The huge 100-round magazine also ensures that reloading isn't neccessary that often. We significantly increase the rate of fire here, but also the recoil. Every kill heals us directly and the ammo ensures that our damage to extremities is not reduced. All in all, this is the perfect run-and-gun or spray-and-pray weapon.

The Equipment & Perks On An M1928 Loadout

From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:

  • Secondary Weapon: Panzerschreck
  • Lethal: Thermite
  • Tactical: Stuns
  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Demolition
  • Field Upgrade: Armour Plates

The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for an M1928 loadout unless they make serious balance changes. If you're a serial tac-sprinter then for a run-and-gun class like this, Double Time might be the play, but that's your call.

Nothing is too broken here, it's a great close-range class and only the Armour Plates need a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
