The future of Modern Warfare's weapons in Warzone has just been shared by a leaker. It seems that these weapons, from way back in 2019, will live to see another year, and will survive into Warzone's next phase: year 3.
While there are arguments for them doing this, I'll admit right up front that I think this is a bad idea. I don't even have a problem with realism, but for them to push the new Vanguard weapons, they will almost certainly make them broken to compete with 80+ other existing weapons. If it was a clean slate, the new weapons would be far easier to balance.
I just fear a BOCW style integration, and I think my fears are well-placed.
Will Modern Warfare's Weapons Still Be In Warzone For The New Map?
Modern Warfare's weapons will survive into the next phase of Warzone and will continue to be usable on the Pacific map alongside WWII-era weaponry. The same is true of BOCW's weapons, and other cosmetics, though this was never in doubt. As was leaked on Twitter:
BOCW and Modern Warfare weapons will still be on the new map. It would appear that all your cosmetics will transfer over too.

If nothing else, this is going to create a bizarre aesthetic clash.

How Has The Community Responded?
Well, let's state the obvious for a moment:
Including the Marshal (to be released during season 5), there are going to be 85 primary weapons in Warzone at Vanguard's launch. So, how will they balance a ton of new weapons being introduced into an already huge weapon pool without making them overpowered? They won't. The WWII weapons will be objectively better. As is the case right now, a few of the weapons of the previous games will be viable, but none will be meta.
And fans realized this instantly. Which begs the question of why bother keeping weapons that are already outdated then? Well, I think a few users struck the right answer...
Not really because what are they gonna do with all the little kids who bought blueprints for weapons . You hardly think activision will refund them

Modern Warfare's weapons might be coming to the next stage of Warzone, but do you think any of them will still get any play time? Perhaps a few Grau's for fully-loaded, or the occasional HDR for true long-range, but I can't imagine much more.
