Ironically, Steam is the last platform to have the Dota 2 official soundtrack available.

Now found on every platform

The Dota 2 official soundtrack has been available online for quite some time, since 2017, to be precise. The game's OST is available on Spotify, Deezer, Google Play Music and now – Steam. There's also a playlist on YouTube you can check.

The soundtrack

Performed by the Valve Studio Orchestra, the soundtrack was made to get you hyped for battle. While we usually see small indie studios selling their game's audio in order to make some extra bucks, with Valve that's not the case. The company already makes plenty through Steam transactions alone, and releasing the pieces on the platform is more of community service and convenience for the fans.

If you want to claim your copy of the Dota 2 OST, there's currently a sale on it on Steam to mark its release. The price drops by 25% from €8,19 to €6,14, so it's quite a good deal for a soundtrack of over 40 minutes. Here's also the full list of songs.

The Steam version includes MP3 as well as FLAC files. For anyone familiar with the game's tradition, it's all rather clear. Each year, Valve would release a new music pack to commemorate the current edition of its largest esports event, The International. Since the OST was released in 2017, the last piece we see is from the 2016 music packs. Perhaps an update to add the missing ones would be in order.

While music tastes are generally subjective, the Dota 2 soundtrack is certainly of epic proportions and deserves recognition. The title's in-game design shines as well as almost every single spell can be easily distinguished from one another.

Whether you're a fan of good music, a fan of Dota 2 or both you now have the chance to support both the developers and the creators on Steam.
