The Dota 2 in-game subscription-based service Dota Plus just got a winter update. Valve added new seasonal quests, voice lines, a new treasure and more.
Dota Plus has been around since March 2018 but for the majority of that time, it was borderline useless once the initial hype was over. Fans criticized Valve for not adding anything new to Plus to justify its monthly fee. In the last few months, the company proved that getting Dota Plus just might be worth it.

Not too long ago Valve made a "rework" of the service by rewarding even players that are not subscribed with shards. The devs also added a seasonal treasure among other features. We’re already in the last month of 2020 and with the latest update Dota Plus got even better.
Winter Update
Yesterday Valve released all the details surrounding the new Dota Plus update. Here's a brief look at all it has to offer.
Dota Plus Gets a Grandmaster Tier
Previously hero levels in Dota Plus were capped at 25. Now that limit expands further to 30, granting an additional voice line. To make it even better, playing as your favorite hero will net you in extra shards.
Dota Plus members can now level up heroes to a brand-new Grandmaster tier at level 30. In addition to the inherent intimidation factor, players who earn the title of Grandmaster have access to a new chat wheel voice line for that hero. Any hero challenges completed as a Grandmaster will also grant shards as a reward instead of hero XP
A New Treasure
The winter season is closing in and Dota Plus gets an exciting new treasure that’s properly themed. It features exclusive sets for Dragon Knight, Puck, Spirit Breaker, Templar Assassin, Earth Spirit, Vengeful Spirit, Luna, Necrophos, Undying, Ember Spirit, and Centaur Warrunner.
New Quests and Guild Rewards
It’s time to put aside the “Lakat matatags” and bring in “The next level play” along with “Ай-ай-ай-ай-ай, что сейчас произошло”. The guild rewards get refreshed, giving players access to new voice lines, sprays, and emoticons.
In addition, there are plenty of new quests for you to complete. Finishing all of them will net you in 115,200 shards and that’s plenty considering the price of a single treasure is 10k.
