The first season of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021 is nearing its end. We've had an interesting Week 5 which already showed us some teams that qualified directly to the playoffs of the Singapore Major. Here's what happened!

Dota 2's new competitive system offers high-level pro matches every day and over the past weeks we've seen some twists and turns but the majority of the series went exactly as one expected. Week 5 of DPC 2021 Season 1 is behind and the next few days will be the most important ones for some of the teams. Let's have a look!

Europe

Team Secret became the first team to qualify directly for the Singapore Major playoffs with a perfect 6-0 score. They still have one match remaining against OG but that'll be just for show at this point. Vikin.gg and High Coast Esports will be dropping to the Lower Division due to their poor performance throughout the season. Alliance, Nigma, Liquid, and OG will have one final shot to make it higher this week.

CIS

Unlike in Europe, things can still go either way for the top teams there. Over the past week, Natus Vincere lost a series to Team Spirit. In the meantime, Virtus.pro claimed victory over NoTechies and the Russia bears are now in the lead with 6-0. Despite that, the clash between the two top teams is still to come. If Na'Vi manages to defeat VP they'll be both at a final score of 6-1 and we'll probably see some tiebreakers. So far, the only team that's dropping to the Lower Division is NoTechies.

China

Due to the celebrations surrounding the Lunar New Year the Dota 2 teams in China will be playing Week 4 this week.

SEA

Things have turned around in SEA with Fnatic making the score even. Previously, Neon Esports were the undefeated leader in the region but their clash with Fnatic resulted in a loss. Now both teams are at 5-1 and their final series will be as important as ever. Vice Esports will be dropping to the Lower Division with a final score of 1-6. Joining them will be either 496 Gaming or Execration.

North America

We saw another surprise in North America as the mighty Evil Geniuses fell to the regional powerhouse Quincy Crew. The latter proved they're not to be underestimated after taking down EG with 2-1. Things are looking good for QC but they might still slip against Undying. In the meantime, EG's victory against 5ManMidas is basically guaranteed.

South America

Ah, South America, formerly known as the beastcoast region but that's no longer the case. The team had a perfect score before the end of Week 5. Over the course of it, they lost to NoPing. Their last opponents will be SG e-sports and if they lose it while Thunder Predator claim victory, we'll be seeing another draw at the top. Latam Defenders are definitely heading into the Lower Division next season, but the question is who will follow them?
