Rick and morty Season 5 Finale
You'll need to wait for a few weeks while the show goes on a small summer hiatus unfortunately | © Warner Bros.

Rick and Morty Season 5 has been delayed. Unfortuantely the show is on a short summer hiatus. But it will return for episodes 9 and 10, which will essentially act as parts 1 and 2 of a finale. You can find the release date of Rick and Morty's finale beneath.

Sadly many viewers will have tuned in this weekend to find that Rick and Morty was missing. Don't worry, Season 5 will be concluded with episodes 9 and 10, but the show is going on a short summer break.

When Is The Rick & Morty Season 5 Finale?

Rick and Morty Season 5 will continue with episode 9 and 10 combined into one hour-long special on September 5 at 23:00 ET on Adult Swim.

As we said, these episodes will act as a two-parter finale. Episode 9 is going to be called "Forgetting Sarick Mortshell", so we can presume the pair split up for whatever reason, and episode 10 shall be named "Rickmurai Jack" in reference to Samurai Jack. The former was an animated show about a Samurai stuck in the future and longing to return home. So it's very easy to see how that might look in Rick and Morty.

Why Was The Rick & Morty Season 5 Finale Delayed?

So far the reason for Rick and Morty's Season 5 delay has not been shared publically, but it's the first time for this to happen in the show's history, as is the combining of two episodes into one hour-long special. We do have a trailer to go on now, though:

We're going to find out what 'Rick is like without Morty' apparently, let's hope he doesn't have too much fun. Though no doubt, the pair will find their way back to each other by the finale's conclusion. Especially given that Rick and Morty Season 6 is now widely known to be in development.
