Drama, romance and small-town charm: Virgin River in a nutshell. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming season 6!

In December 2024, season 6 of Virgin River landed on Netflix – complete with love, heartbreak and all the small-town charm fans can't get enough of.
But wait, there's more: season 7 has officially been confirmed! With this, Virgin River became Netflix’s longest-running original drama series.
Virgin River Season 7: Confirmed!
The wait for season 7 might feel long – especially since season 6 only just dropped in December 2024 – but it’s officially on the way. We can probably expect the new season sometime in late 2025 or early 2026.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has made one thing clear: “There’s a lot more to go here with these characters.” We’re guessing he’s mainly talking about Mel and Jack, who finally tied the knot in season 6. But happily ever after? In Virgin River? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Newlyweds, New Problems
Season 7 will dive into Mel and Jack’s life as newlyweds – and of course, drama is lurking around every pine tree. Just because Charmaine’s lies came to light doesn’t mean everything is back to normal. Will Mel and Jack really get the future they’ve been dreaming of, or will past wounds and new challenges pull them apart?
And that’s not all. We’ll also be catching up with Hope and Doc, Preacher and Kaia, and the rest of the town’s favorite residents. Something tells us their stories are far from over.
New Faces In Town
Season 7 won’t feature a totally new cast – don’t worry, your favorites are sticking around. But a few fresh characters are moving to Virgin River, bringing some shake-ups with them.
Sara Canning joins as Victoria, a former cop who’s now training to become a doctor – and looking for love. Meanwhile, Cody Kearsley plays Clay, a rugged bull rider with a tough past and a new mission: finding his long-lost sister.
So whether you're here for the cozy vibes, the small-town secrets, or the slow-burning romances, one thing’s for sure: Virgin River season 7 is going to deliver. And honestly? We can't wait.
