Yesterday FaZe Clan have finally revealed their first two Valorant players. Those are Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski and Corey "Corey" Nigra.

FaZe Clan is actually a little late to the party as many organizations started building a Valorant roster when the game was still in closed beta. Various examples include T1, Cloud9, and others. Yesterday FaZe made the announcement for their first signed player who is no other than Jason “jasonR” Ruchelski.

Ruchelski is a retired CS:GO, player. He changed 5 teams in 2015, then played for Splyce and most recently (2017) spent a couple of months as a stand-in for OpTic Gaming. Ever since he retired from Valve’s shooter jasonR has turned into a full-time streamer and gained a massive following on Twitch. The Canadian player has been focused almost entirely on Valorant ever since the game’s release and it seems it paid off. Ruchelski was the first one to be signed by FaZe and he’ll also fill the role of captain/IGL.

The second announcement by FaZe came over an hour later as they revealed the next player to join the squad.

Unlike jasonR, Corey “Corey” Nigra has an Overwatch background. He first played for East Wind, a team which was signed by Evil Geniuses until the organization decided to leave Blizzard’s title. Corey then joined Gladiators Legion and most recently played for the Washington Justice. He also won the 2019 Overwatch World Cup with Team United States. Nigra retired over a month ago on May 8 in order to pursue a professional career in Valorant. He has already proven himself as a good player in Riot’s new game. Corey participated in the Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown with team dizzy and earned 5-8th place. Corey will make his professional debut tomorrow at the T1 x NerdStreetGamers Valorant Showdown.

FaZe might be starting their roster a bit late but so far they’ve made some good choices. Both jasonR and Corey have previous competitive experience and both want to make it big in Riot’s tactical shooter. Who will be the remaining three though? Perhaps former teammates of the two?
