Scott McTominay vs. James Milner is what we're getting out of the Manchester United – Liverpool derby. The match is on Sunday and until then, FIFA 21 players can complete either player's FUT Showdown SBC.
The last Showdown SBC between Sean Klaiber and Donyell Malen ended with a point for both cards after Ajax and PSV drew 2-2. EA Sports take the odds higher with the follow-up as we take on Anfield, the clash between Liverpool and Manchester United, and the FUT Showdown between James Milner and Scott McTominay.
FIFA 21 FUT Showdown: Scott McTominay vs James Millner
A quick reminder of the format: both players receive an SBC. Whoever's team wins gets an additional 2-point raise of his stats. If the match is a draw, they get a point each.
Scott McTominay and James Milner are rated the same - at 85, but serve different roles in the center of the field. McTominay, being a CDM, is stronger defensively, while CM Milner has better passing and shooting stats. The Englishman is more expensive, so unless you're certain of a Liverpool victory, Scottie seems slightly better value for coin.

For the Manchester United player's card, a total of three teams need to be traded in. Two of them cost around 40,000 coins each, the third doubles that amount:
- Min. one Manchester United player, min. 83 OVR, min. 75 chemistry
- Min. one Premier League player, min. one TOTW player, min. 83 OVR, min. 70 chemistry
- Min. one TOTW player, min. 84 OVR, min. 70 chemistry
Team 1
Our almost exclusively Latin American team is only interrupted by the presence of a German trio in the back. Summer transfer Alex Telles represents the Red Devils.
Team 2
We bring back Gonzalo Higuaín and Carlos Vela and expand the Bundesliga presence. Despite the TOTW requirement, this squad is minimally more expensive than the first one thanks to Baptiste Santamaria from the current TOTW 15.
Team 3
The expensive team costs around 86,000 coins and is mostly from the Serie A, including our In-Form player - Fiorentina's Bartłomiej Dragowski.

James Milner is more costly and that difference stems from the second team, which requires a higher OVR than Scott McTominay's team:
- Min. one Liverpool player, min. 83 OVR, min. 75 chemistry
- Min. one English player, min. 84 OVR, min. 65 chemistry
- Min. one TOTW player, min. 84 OVR, min. 70 chemistry
Team 1
Liverpool players aren't cheap, so we try to go as low as possible with Xherdan Shaqiri. Vela and Higuaín are back, but we go a different road with the rest of the squad.
Team 2
Bundesliga goalkeepers save the day. We got four of those + Kasper Schmeichel. The Dane's teammate Jamie Vardy completes our squad by becoming our English player.
Team 3
Team 3 is just as expensive as the second team, but it looks completely different. TOTW Omar Al Soma is surrounded by Serie A stars and Spaniards.
These SBCs can be completed until January 17 - the day of the derby.
