EA Sports has officially announced that the Live Tuning Tool can fix minor game errors in FIFA 22, i.e. bugs and glitches, without requiring client-side patches and app updates. Absolutely fantastic news for FIFA 22.

EA continue to give us more information on the features, and updates for the upcoming FIFA 22, and boy are we impressed. These really are big steps forward for the series. The lead gameplay producer, Sam Rivera, described another feature in an interview for The Mirror that could prove to be extremely useful to us fans:

In order to be able to react more quickly to errors in the new FIFA, we have worked on a new feature that we call the Live Tuning Tool. In FIFA 22, we can use it to work on the gameplay and other changes - without releasing a full title patch.

That sounds pretty nice. Just think, how often were the goalkeepers broken for release and had to be edited afterward with really big patches? No more, it seems.

FIFA 22: Bugs And Glitches Are Fixed Faster

It remains to be seen whether "big problems" can actually be fixed quickly and easily using the Live Tuning Tool, without us having to install a 20 GB patch. Smaller bugs and glitches, however, should be able to be removed from the game much more effectively. The interview also said that "minor fine adjustments for illustrative purposes that used to take up to two months can now be published much faster".

Large components of the game such as animations and code modifications are specifically excluded from this. These changes cannot be achieved with the Live Tuning Tool.

What About FUT Bugs With The New Live Tuning Tool?

If several players report a small bug within quick succession, then EA should be able to act more quickly than before.

I mean, nobody wants to lose in Ultimate Team because of some kick-off bugs (veterans remember when you could kick the ball straight up the pitch from kick-off while the defenders stayed motionless). Even in career mode, there are always funny little mistakes every year when the coaches on the sidelines are suddenly in jerseys instead of suits. Other mistakes, however, such as not being able to borrow players properly, are just annoying. The Live Tuning Tool should provide a remedy for these, or at least a faster acting version of one. This could be huge news for other games made on EA's Frostbite engine... but only time will tell.
