The schedule for the Global Qualifier of FLASHPOINT’s first season has been released along with the distribution of teams across the two groups.

The FLASHPOINT Global Qualifier details

Eight teams made it to this stage of qualification – six through the regional qualifiers and two via invitations. Those were divided into two groups of four in the following way:

Group A

  • BIG Clan
  • AVEZ
  • DETONA Gaming
  • Orgless

Group B

  • Chaos Esports
  • Copenhagen Flames
  • SKADE
  • Redemption POA

The top two teams in each group advance to the deciding games, in which the winner of Group A will play the runner-up in Group B and vice-versa. The victors in these matches qualify for the main stage of FLASHPOINT Season 1.

The Global Qualifier will begin on March 3 with four Bo1s:

  • BIG Clan – DETONA Gaming
  • AVEZ – Orgless
  • Copenhagen Flames – Redemption POA
  • Chaos Esports – SKADE

The first day of play will conclude with the winners’ matches in each group, which will move to a Bo3 format. March 4 will see out the remainder of group play with four more Bo3s to determine the other two teams that will get out of the groups.

The pair of deciders are left for the culmination of the Global Qualifier on March 5. The format of play remains Bo3. The winners in these games will add $16,000 to their accounts along with qualifying for the next stage.

There are still a lot of unclear circumstances for FLASHPOINT Season 1’s regular season. For one, it is yet to receive an official starting date. Expectations are for a late March take off but as of now, it’s all guess work.

The team sheet is also up in the air with just six of the ten “founding member” slots being filled currently. The six teams already confirmed are Dignitas, Gen.G, Cloud9, Made in Brazil, c0ntact Gaming and MAD Lions, but nothing new has popped up in weeks and with almost all of the big names joining ESL Pro League, things are starting to look dire for FLASHPOINT.
