3 Fortnite Legends Who Said Goodbye to the Game in 2020

1-3

Thank you for the awesome games!

Psalm

Harrison "Psalm" Chang

Psalm, the runner-up in the Fortnite World Cup Solo Division that was announced on April 5, 2020, said that he would retire from the game.

At the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, Psalm had his best performance as a Fortnite pro, finishing second behind Solo Division winner Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf. For his podium finish, Psalm received $1.8 million in prize money.

In his tweet, Psalm said that his dream was to become the "most decorated competitor in gaming history." However, he will now try to continue this dream in Valorant. (Image credit: Psalm via Team Liquid)

Ceeday

William "Ceeday" Wilson

Ceeday is an American YouTuber and gamer known for his comedic Fortnite videos. His most famous type of Fortnite videos are about "default skins" where he trolls players, helps players, and occasionally pretends to be one of the players due to a passive, awkward, yet comedic nature.

Back in December 2018, Williams' YouTube channel was completely blacked out. Several theories came up, saying that something might have happened to William and/or his channel. However, he intentionally shut down his channel due to depression and stress. Since then, he's had several breaks from YouTube and from Fortnite, but always returned.

Finally, on August 27, 2020, he announced that he would make his last Fortnite video and do a complete switch to a new popular game, Fall Guys. (Image credit: Ceeday via Instagram)

Issa

Issa "Issa" Rahim

Fortnite World Cup Finalist Issa had to quit Fortnite in November after two years of playing professionally. Issa cited nerve damage in his hand as one of many reasons he is retiring from Fortnite. He surpassed what was possible on the controller during the Battle Royale's heyday, becoming one of the few controller players to qualify for the Fortnite World Championship.

Issa's doctor told him that while his wrist could be operated on, the pain would persist and he would have to limit his playing time. A decision that was a year in the making led Issa to retire from Fortnite. However, we will always remember him as the Controller King. (Image credit: Issa via Ghost Gaming)

Good Fortnite players are a dime a dozen. But only a small fraction of these players manage to earn a living with the battle royale shooter. They are the best of the best. Among them Fortnite world champion Bugha, and the two most famous streamers in the world: Ninja and Tfue. While the latter has already taken sabbaticals from Fortnite and returned, there were some players in the spotlight who announced they were retiring from the game for good. Here comes three Fortnite legends who left the game in 2020.
