In history, bows were a common weapon. They have long range and offer a lot of versatile variants. Like the other weapons in Fortnite Season 6, bows have a tinker version, but unlike before, they can be converted into six other versions. We'll show you how.
What are the Bows in Fortnite Season 6?
In Fortnite Season 6, you can craft or find the following bows:
- Makeshift Bow
- Primal Bow
- Mechanical Bow
- Mechanical Shockwave Bow
- Mechanical Explosive Bow
- Primal Stink Bow
- Primal Flame Bow
As you've probably guessed, you can modify the Makeshift Bow with both animal bones and mechanics parts. With animal bones, you make a Primal Bow, with mechanical parts you make a Mechanical Bow. From here, it branches out further and there are four more bow variations. Two of them are made with the Primal Bow, the other two with the Mechanical Bow. Now let's get to the interesting part of the story: the crafting of the bows.

Mechanical Shockwave Bow
The mechanical shockwave bow uses a targeting system to fire projectiles that must be charged to reach the optimal distance. The damage is the same regardless of the charge. The projectile fired is a very fast arrow and if the arrow hits an enemy, they'll be flung upwards after a short time. You can also fling yourself, your team, or your opponents away without a direct hit.
Required Crafting Materials:
- Mechanical Bow
- 2 Shockwave Grenades
Mechanical Explosive Bow
The mechanical explosive bow uses a targeting system to fire projectiles that must be charged to reach the optimal distance. The damage is the same regardless of the charge. Much like any other bow, the projectile is quite fast when charged. When the arrow lands or hits someone, it creates three explosions that deal 20 damage each.
Required Crafting Materials:
- Mechanical Bow
- 6 Grenades
Primal Stink Bow
The primal stink bow uses a targeting system to fire projectiles that must be charged to reach the optimal distance. The damage is the same regardless of the charge. The projectile fired is as fast as the others above. When the arrow lands, it creates a small cloud of gas that does 5 damage per second to HP.
Required Crafting Materials:
- Primal Bow
- Stink Sac (from frogs) or Stink Flopper (fishing)
Primal Flame Bow
The Primal Flame Bow uses a targeting system to fire projectiles that must be charged to reach the optimal distance. The damage is the same regardless of the charge. The projectile fired is a very fast arrow. If the arrow lands on a flammable object, such as a wooden wall, it ignites it and causes fire damage.
Necessary Crafting Materials:
- Primal Bow
- Gas Can or Firefly Jar
