Fortnite Patch 17.40 includes a new mode: Impostors. Or as we call it: Among Us x Fortnite. We have all the info about the exciting new Fortnite LTM.

The new update brought a new mode into the game, which will probably blow the mind of Among Us fans! Fortnite Impostors is a mode for a max of ten players and has 8 agents searching for two impostors who are trying to seize control of the ship. Yep, it is literally Among Us in Fortnite! Track down Impostor Jonesy and Impostor Peely and prevent them from taking down your crew!

The Fortnite Impostors LTM

The new LTM is actually quite simple. The Imagined Order agents are tasked with protecting the bridge by completing their missions or tracking down the impostors. As we said, it is literally Among Us, so if you have ever played a single match of Among Us, you know exactly how this will go down. If you have never played Among Us, a pretty hard feat in itself, then this LTM requires agents to complete a list of simple tasks until they win or discover the Impostor. However, if the impostors eliminate enough agents before the bridge is secured, the impostors will win the match instead. In this LTM, you can force a meeting to check how your fellow agents are doing and to discuss who they think the impostor is. Meetings can be scheduled when you find an eliminated agent and report it, or when you interact with the meeting desk in the main bridge room. During meetings, agents and impostors can share information with each other via emotes or the all-new quick chat by asking pertinent questions – such as who did what, where, and when – and nominating suspicious teammates for execution. At the end of each meeting, agents and impostors can either vote for a person to be removed from the bridge or abstain from voting altogether. If you are voted out, you are dead, Agent or Impostor!

Imagined Order Agent Tasks

The facilities that keep the bridge running are like a well-functioning machine, and it's the job of the Imaged Order's agents to make sure it stays that way. To do this, you'll have to carry out the following tasks, among others:

  • Calibrating chests and lamas.
  • Repair of the battle bus
  • Deliver the storm data so that it can be analyzed.
  • Eat a durr durr burger
  • Crush a tomato head

Complete your tasks quickly while keeping an eye out for treacherous impostors and eliminated allies. Complete all tasks or select all impostors from the game to win.

The Impostor

The goal of the impostors is to eliminate enough agents to seize control of the bridge before you get caught. You can do this by using the following tricks:

  • Turn off tasks: Momentarily freezes progress on all tasks to buy you valuable time.
  • Teleport Players: Teleports all agents and impostors to another location on the bridge to cover your tracks.
  • Shali Party - All agents and impostors briefly look like Shali, allowing you to blend in perfectly with the crowd.

Like the agents, the impostors have a list of jobs they can complete, so they can earn the trust of other players. Let the mind games begin!

Map Locations in the LTM

There are also a bunch of locations where you'll have to complete your tasks. Among them are a few rooms that will be familiar to Among Us fans:

  • Battle Bus Repair
  • CSI
  • Food Court
  • Island Control
  • Loop Control
  • Maintenance
  • Office
  • Science Lab
  • Security
  • Sleeping Quarters
  • Storm Monitoring
  • Weapons Lab
  • Discussion Room
  • Supply Drop Factory
  • The Bridge

Finding a Match and Chatting in Game

You can join the player search with any group size, but public voice chat in the Impostor LTM is disabled, while group chat remains available. You can also communicate with all players via emotes and quick-chat options.

If you only want to play with your friends, then select the "Private" option before you start looking for a match of Fortnite's Impostor LTM. There are a few different ways to set your lobby to private, and this can also be done by setting your Friend's list to Private. Find this option under the cogwheel on your in-game friend profile menu.

If a match is started with four to seven players, there will only be one impostor, but if there are eight or more players, then two of them will be impostors instead.

Have fun agents, and jump into the action, but more importantly: don't trust anyone!
