Epic Games is planning to release a big new update in Fortnite this week, and it comes with a crisp new feature. Fortnite fans are hyped for the release of update 17.20. According to some Fortnite leakers, the next big update is in testing and is about to be released. That means Fortnite fans should be able to download the update on the morning of July 20.
Fortnite Update 17.20 Patch Notes
Besides bug fixes and gameplay optimizations, the new update is also supposed to bring a brand new feature.
Grab-Itron/Cowinator Gun Leaked
Data miners were quick to discover something new in the game files of patch 17.20 – the Grab-Itron gun. Fortnite's gravity gun was first teased in the trailer for Season 7: Invasion. Ever since then fans have been waiting for the weapon's release. Since the files are already in the game, we shouldn't be waiting much more. Here's also a first glimpse of how the weapon will work in-game.

The Grab-Itron was initially dubbed "The Cowinator" but now it's clear that won't be the weapon's official name. A release date is still unclear, but our best is by the end of the month. Perhaps the challenges for Week 7 will feature the Grab-Itron?

Weapon Slot Optimization
The handy new feature will allow players to customize their weapon slots. In other words, you'll be able to assign each inventory slot to a weapon or item type of your choice, which will save you a lot of time in-game.
So, for example, if you pick up a shotgun, it will automatically be placed in slot #3 if you selected that for your shotgun.

You'll be able to pre-select where any weapon/item is put after pick up, in Fortnite V17.20!

In a tweet, Fortnite leaker Hypex revealed which weapons will be supported by the new feature:
- Sniper Rifles & Bows (same keybind)
- Grenade Launcher & Rocket Launcher (same keybind)
- Consumables (all healing and crafting items)
- Other supplies (grenades, throwing items, etc.)
The feature could prove to be extremely valuable for fans who want to arrange their loadout as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Epic Games also posted a tweet describing an apparent alien invasion coming to Fortnite Island.
Just intercepted an IO call that Alien ground troops have begun mobilizing west.
This is probably one of the most exciting updates: Epic Games also posted a teaser image showing what appears to be a new underground POI. It looks like a dark cave with a flying saucer half-submerged underground. Perhaps this ties into the alien invasion storyline of trying to retrieve the UFO?

Destruction of Coral Castle
Coral Castle is a location that was only added to the Fortnite map in Season 3 of Chapter 2. Now the POI is supposed to be destroyed in the upcoming patch. Maybe the underground POI will be created in this place. We will see...
New Vorian Scout NPC
A new NPC named Vorian Scout also joins Fortnite.
Vorian Scout is none other than the alien Kymera, who now also gets his appearance in the game. His description reads:
He may or may not come in peace.
His weapon will be an epic tactical shotgun, which is not to be underestimated. Otherwise, as with every patch, there will be some bug fixes again. If you're interested, you can read about them on the official Fortnite Trello board.
