Epic Games and Houseparty started an official collaboration back in 2019 and now we can see the fruits of their labor: Thanks to Houseparty, video chat enters the popular battle royale!Houseparty is basically like Zoom meetings, only much more fun. Thanks to the collab between Epic Games and Houseparty, you and your friends can participate in in-game events or hunt a Victory Royale while talking via video chat. When your friends mess up the group-strat again, you can finally show them what you really think:

For the time being, Houseparty is only available for Fortnite players who play on PC, PS4, or PS5. The Xbox is obviously missing here and it really got us thinking that... perhaps... that $250 million investment Sony made in Epic wasn't for nothing. Go figure.

If you want to use the service, you have to install Houseparty on your Android or iOS device and then link your Epic account to it.

As a small thank you for using the service, you will receive a Rainbow Wrap as a gift. People that don't use Houseparty can still receive the Rainbow Wrap by playing five matches between November 20 and November 26, 2020. They will then receive the item in the first week of December.

The Houseparty app will set you and your friends' faces to a virtual Fortnite background. We can only guess this is for safety reasons, but it also looks awesome.
