Over the weekend fans were able to enjoy the conclusion to the WePlay! Valorant Invitational where G2 took the champion’s title.
The WePlay! Valorant Invitational kicked off on Wednesday and came to an end this past weekend. It featured the best Valorant teams in Europe and for some it was their first try as a team. The event included a total of eight teams:
- G2 Esports
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- fish123
- need more DM
- forZe
- Prodigy
- nolpenki
- PartyParrots
During the group stage, G2 Esports were the only team with no losses. After the conclusion only the top four remained – G2, NiP, need more DM, and fish123 (future Team Liquid). Three of the four are major orgs with only need more DM playing as an unsigned stack. If they continue to deliver results though, an organization might just decide to sign them all up.

In the playoffs, G2 Esports continued to dominate by defeating need more DM in the semifinals and fish123 in the grand final. Both series ended up with a 2:0 in favor of G2. NiP managed to put up quite the fight against fish123 even going into additional rounds, but it simply wasn’t enough. Their roster was assembled rather recently and it seems like the team could use a bit more synergy.
G2 Esports took $25,000 home for taking the first place along with the bragging rights. More and more teams are popping up in the Valorant competitive scene but G2 still seem to be the top dog in Europe.

At least for now, BIG also announced the signing of three Valorant players, so it’s only a matter of time before the German organization joins the fray.
The next Valorant event part of the Ignition Series will be the PAX Arena Invitaional which is scheduled to start this Wednesday. It’ll take us to North America where 20 teams will compete for a total prize pool of $25,000.
